FAQs

The Wedding Website of Sarah Cohen and Paul Sluss
You've got questions ... we hope we've got answers. Truly, whatever questions we can answer to make your trip to Indiana easier and your experience during our wedding weekend better, we're more than happy to answer them -- or find someone who can!
Question

I'll be flying in for the wedding. Which airports are most convenient?

Answer

The nearest airports are in Chicago: O'Hare International Airport (a little over an hour away) and Midway International Airport (about 45 minutes away). Those times are based on non-high-traffic times. If you try to drive it in evening rush-hour, all bets are off. South Bend Airport is about 90 minutes east of us, and Indianapolis is about two-and-a-half hours southeast.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do! Please check out our the Travel page on https://www.zola.com/wedding/sarah-and-paul for details.

Question

Are my children invited to the wedding?

Answer

Oh, how we wish we could accommodate all of the kiddos of our friends and family -- we adore them! However, except for the children in our immediate families, our wedding day is adults only. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We’ve addressed each invitation specifically to those who are invited and designated on the invitation how many spots have been reserved for you. Of course, we may not be aware of everyone’s situation, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.

Question

What's the best way to RSVP?

Answer

Please email us at sarahandpaul0514@gmail.com or call or text Sarah at 219-308-8169. Don't forget to include your meal selections: filet mignon or stuffed chicken breast. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know so we may try to accommodate. Also, please don't forget to send a photograph for each person attending.

Question

You've asked us to send photos of ourselves with our RSVP. What kind of photos should we send?

Answer

Great question! We're looking for photos that make you smile, something that holds meaning for you. Each guest attending should have an entirely different photo. For example, it can be a cute childhoold photo, an image captured from a holiday or trip taken, a shot from your own wedding day, or even a special memory with the bride or groom. Whatever it is, it should be personal and meaningful to you.

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

The attire for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Some people have asked for a bit more detail, so some examples might be a suit with or without a tie, sports jacket and slacks, collar shirt and tie, knee-length or cocktail dress, maxi dress, dressy pants suit or jumpsuit, dress shoes or (for Texas folks) your nicest cowboy boots. We ask kindly that you not wear jeans.

Question

What time should I arrive at the church?

Answer

Guests are welcome to arrive starting at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony starts at 2 p.m.

Question

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

During the ceremony, we'd love for everyone to be in the moment and refrain from taking photos. We've got an amazing photographer and videographer in place to capture this incredibly special and reverent part of our day. BUT, before the ceremony, after the ceremony, throughout the reception -- we'd LOVE to see the photos and videos you capture!

Question

Can I post pictures from the wedding day to social media?

Answer

Yes (as long as they capture Sarah’s good side 😉). We would LOVE for guests to share their photos and videos with us, whether it’s on social media or on our handy-dandy Google drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xErRKl33S7FXdyy0CWwCr-Q41Vii5YXf?usp=sharing On social media, don’t forget to use our wedding hashtags: #cohentothechapel and #sarahsnaggedasluss. And as a reminder, we ask that you unplug during our ceremony. We’ve hired an amazing photographer and videographer to capture the day. Let’s let them take the photos so that you can be fully present and enjoy this special moment with us. Once photos are available from the photographer, we’ll let you know!

Question

I noticed there is a gap between the ceremony and the reception. Do you have any suggestions for how I use that time?

Answer

We sure do! Check out our Things to Do page for more details, but a few fun spots closeby are Malt Brothers Brewing Company, Albanese Candy Factory, the Shrine of Christ's Passion (they have an awesome gift shop), and downtown Crown Point.

Question

Will there be a shuttle service?

Answer

We won't have a shuttle service, but we're planning to have a taxi service available toward the end of the reception so that everyone can get home safely.

Question

Will the reception have a cash bar?

Answer

Lucky you, drinks are on the house! We'll have a variety of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages for our guests. The bar will close during toasts, so make sure your glass is full when you sit down to dinner.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We have items on our registry from several stores, including Williams Sonoma, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Pottery Barn. If possible, we ask that you order through our Zola site or at least mark that you’ve purchased an item from these stores. This way, we don’t end up with four toasters (although toast is super-yummy). You also have the option to contribute to our honeymoon fund or a group gift through the website.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the reception will be indoors. However, at White Hawk Country Club, we will have an outdoor patio area for you to enjoy. (Everyone say a prayer that it doesn't rain!)

Question

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

As Paul puts it, the theme is “Sarah and Paul are getting married.” Ha! We don’t really have a theme, but our wedding colors are dusty blue, navy, white and hints of gold.

Question

Will there be any vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or special diet options?

Answer

We have several friends and family members with special diets, dietary restrictions and food allergies. Our reception venue is working with us to help us accommodate as many of those issues as possible. Please let us know when you RSVP if you have any concerns.

Question

Who are the day-of wedding contacts if we have any questions?

Answer

Family friend Kristen Salan will be our day-of coordinator. Any questions that day can go to her at 219-xxx-xxxx. Kristen knows the area and will be a great resource. Any questions up to the wedding day can come straight to Sarah and Paul.

Question

I still have questions. What is the best way to contact you?

Answer

We’re happy to help! Please email us at sarahandpaul0514@gmail.com. You can also call Sarah at 219-308-8169 or Paul at 972-890-4132.
