We met in Pullman Washington after Sara had come to college in 2013, Jason had already been there a year. We both attended the same college Christian group and were introduced to each other through our mutual friend Louis Grayson. We hit it off both getting to know each other and becoming good friends. Like a bad teen movie plot neither of us really knew that we liked each other, but we stayed close. Due to circumstances we drifted apart for a time, both living our lives. After a few years being apart we ended up in the same Dungeons and Dragons game hosted by our good friend Matthew Ligman. It was like we never stopped talking, we reconnected and after many months of back and forth flirting, Jason asked Sara out. We didn't know where this would lead but everyone's reaction was the same "Well it's about time". Many people have been in our corner since we met in 2013. After a few dates we made it official in December of 2021. We then dated for a few months but we knew marriage was in our future and on July 29, 2022, Jason proposed. We were playing a game of Dungeons and Dragons where Jason was leading the game and Sara was participating. The game was under the guise of Jason wanting to try running a game but was nervous to do it in front of more than a few people. At the end of the game with the monsters defeated and the town saved, Jason got down on one knee and asked the question. Sara cried and could barely form an answer, but the answer was an enthusiastic yes! Our relationship hasn't been a typical one but neither of us would trade it as we are more mature and can handle what life throws our way.
