How do I learn to ski?

We recommend watching Ski School videos by Elate Media on YouTube in advance. His videos are extremely well done. Then we are happy to spend time teaching you at the bunny hill. https://www.youtube.com/user/elatemedia The resort also offers ski lessons for adults and children. What gear do I need to ski?

Answer

First-time skiers will want to rent skis, boots, and poles. We recommend Wild Bills in Red River or Winter Sports in Angel Fire. You will also need several clothing items that can be rented where you rent skis or purchased. Purchasing can add up but you can find good deals off-season in the summer and on the REI used gear site. https://www.rei.com/used Jacket- you will want a very warm jacket Bibs- Insulated ski pants to keep your legs warm Base Layer - Don't purchase or rent these - warm workout gear works fine Gloves - Warm waterproof gloves or mittens are a must Socks - You want tall wool socks. Ski boots stop mid-calf, your socks should be taller than your boots. Beanie - or ear warmers Goggles- Not a must. Sunglasses work too but when it's snowing hard goggles are better. Don't forget sunscreen and a swim suit. Sunburns while skiing are real and nothing feels better than soaking in the hot tub after a long day of skiing.
