Question

Dress code

Answer

We are envisioning our wedding as a relaxed, welcoming, event in an enchanted forest. We would love for you to enjoy the opportunity to dress up if you wish, but we think a more business casual look is more appropriate, as well as more comfortable for an outdoor wedding in August. Please avoid t-shirts and blue jeans.

Question

Gifts

Answer

Please take a look at the Registry page if you have any questions about gifts.

Question

Health Guidelines

Answer

Given the past few years, we are not confident that Covid-19 will no longer be an issue by next year. We ask that any of our guests who are not vaccinated please decline the invitation to come. We would also ask all of our guests to please do a rapid test for covid 3 days before coming. While we will not ask all our guests to wear a mask during the weekend, you are welcome to wear one if you feel more comfortable! Also, in order to reduce the risk to everyone, we would ask that you try to wear a mask while in public for the week before the wedding, particularly while travelling.

Question

Social Media and Pictures

Answer

We encourage you to take and share pictures online during our weekend together! We will decide on a hashtag for the trip and would ask you to include it on your posts, check back and we will put it here as soon as we finish picking it. However, we will ask that during the wedding ceremony, you please make sure that you are not taking pictures or on your phone. We have a photographer, and would prefer that any pictures are taken by them, without having to worry about guests standing in the aisle or otherwise blocking shots. Picture taking during the cocktail hour and reception is welcome.

Question

Food

Answer

Our catering option is provided by the amazing local restaurant Salvage BBQ. There will be a wide spread of options at a buffet, including several BBQ meat options, chili, roasted vegetables, salad, pinto beans, and cornbread. Our dessert will be several self-serve gelato options from the shockingly fabulous Gelato Fiasco!

Question

What gelato flavors will there be?

Answer

Low Sugar Raspberry Sorbetto - The low-sugar flavor that we keep in rotation. It is nearly sugar-free. It contains Splenda, and there may be a very small amount of natural sugar from some dehydrated raspberries. Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp Gelato - Our take on the traditional Maine dessert - using Josh’s grandmother’s recipe. It’s a vanilla bean gelato with a homemade Maine wild blueberry swirl and an oat streusel from Wild Oats Bakery - our neighbor down the street in Brunswick. It tastes just like summer in Maine. Contains gluten. Torched Marshmallow S’more Gelato - Graham cracker gelato with chocolate chunks and torched marshmallows, pairs well with campfires. Contains a little bit of cinnamon. Contains gluten. German Chocolate Sorbetto - This lighter chocolate and coconut cream sorbetto brags pecans and toasted coconut flakes. What makes it German? German Chocolate, is a slightly sweeter chocolate bar for baking was created by Samuel German, an American, in the 1850s. In 1857 a Dallas newspaper published what appears to be the first recipe for German’s Chocolate Cake, but called it “German Chocolate Cake,” leaving off the “s” in “German’s.” The recipe included a coconut cream and toasted coconut flake frosting, and was made with Samuel German’s chocolate bar. German Chocolate Sorbetto is our take on the flavors in this classic american dessert. We have requested that it not contain pecans.
