Dan and I met on social media in April of 2016. We met in person in May of 2016. I was 21 and he was 27. On the first date, we just clicked at a restaurant and we talked for 5 hours. We never really decided to start dating, we just never stopped seeing one another.

I can never seem to surprise Dan so I decided that I was going to propose to him! I did this whole scene at his parent's lake house in Naples, ME. Just he and I on NYE 2020 into 2021. I got him a wooden ring since he likes to woodwork. I added in some battery-lit candles and some instrumental music. He was so shocked. It was awesome! He then proposed "back" to me on Valentine's day 2021 with a breakfast (and coffee) in bed that he had made me. (Turns out he had ordered the ring around Xmas before I proposed to him). I was so shocked and delighted to see that he put so much effort into asking me to marry him, too.

We said "why not?" About a year into dating, Dan took me to Maine for the first time on vacation in 2017 to spend the week with his family at his parent's lake house. Then, I fell in love with Maine (and the man) too. I had never been to Maine before and it was absolutely stunning! So many of our summers together were spent with at least a week in Maine either swimming in Trickey Pond or reading a good book on the dock. It was in these times that our love strengthened and grew into a deeper connection. Dan and I also first got engaged in Maine as the place holds a special place for both of us in our relationship. We want nothing more than to say "I do" in the area that we both fell in love with while we were falling for one another. Lastly, who doesn't love a little weekend getaway vacation?!

2016- Dan and Sara met and became fast friends, then soon started seeing one another. A few months later, Dan asks Sara to be his girlfriend exclusively. 2017- Sara graduated from college with her Bachelor's. Dan takes Sara to Maine for the first time. Sara starts interning at her current job and also starts graduate school. 2018- Sara gets hired at the place where she was interning and she loves her job that is in her field! Daniel and Sara take a winter trip to Maine to enjoy the snow and Dan slips and falls, leading to a trip to the ER in the snow and a dislocated shoulder. 2019- Daniel passed his CPA exams and we officially moved in together in an apartment. Then, we adopted a rabbit (Snow White) at our local shelter to add to our family in the apartment. 2020- Covid-19 hits and we both work from home in our tiny apartment (talk about really getting to know someone.) We bought our first home together in June in the Baltimore area and adopted another bunny (Charmer) to keep Snow White company. Sara also graduated with her Master's degree that spring. Dan and Sara get engaged on New Years Eve 2020 into 2021. Sara's loses her appendix in an ER visit in December. 2021- Dan gets an amazing job opportunity that he loves doing work that he truly enjoys. Dan proposes back to Sara, equally surprising her. 2022- Dan and Sara start wedding planning! 2023- We say "I do" with all our friends and family! Then, get to stay together for a "mini-moon" in Maine after the wedding. 2024- Dan and Sara finally take their honeymoon to their choice of destination!
