The day of our wedding is also a home a home football game... against Texas. If you know anything about K-State football, you know that means Manhattan is going to be hoppin'. That being said, lodging is proving to be somewhat of an issue. We were not allowed to block off any hotel rooms for the wedding. If you even kind of sort of think you maybe might come, we highly, HIGHLY suggest you book a room ASAP. We assume you would be able to cancel it closer to the date if you change your mind or unable to attend--just make sure to ask about the hotel's cancelation policy before you book. Fortunately, Liquid Art Winery, our reception venue, is just past the city limits to the west of Manhattan, which makes the hotels in Junction City only about eight minutes farther from the venue than many of the hotels in Manhattan. Prices may be cheaper and availability may be more open there or in another nearby town. Airbnb can also be a great option! Let Sara know if you need help with this.

Driving & Traffic

Expect restaurants to be busy. Keep traffic and parking in mind especially when coming to the ceremony. The winery is somewhat isolated and has its own parking lot designated for our guests at the reception, but the church is downtown and does not have its own parking lot. There is a public parking lot across the street, as well as street parking, but those are open to the public and all nearby businesses. If you plan to drink at the reception, PLEASE do not drive, and none of the, "Oh I've only had a couple, I'll be fine," nonsense. If safety is not enough of a deterrent, cops are out in spades on home game weekends and they pull people over for anything and everything trying to catch drivers under the influence. Liquid Art allows people to leave their vehicles there overnight, so if you don't have a designated driver please take advantage of the following rideshare services we found listed on RCPD's website: Uber - phone app Lyft - phone app Wildcat Taxi - 785.477.8808 Go Van Go - 785.410.2005 Bell Taxi Transportation - 785.537.2086 (prices vary)
