Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Sara Martin and Brenton Kirkhart
We intentionally left a gap between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception 1. primarily to give us a chance to take more photos, and 2. to give y'all a chance to check into hotels, change into comfy shoes, etc. If you would rather go straight to the reception venue, there is a tasting room where you can sample the winery's wine and homemade cider. We absolutely LOVED their ciders!! They also have food if you're feeling particularly snacky. Please note that we are not able to cover your food/drinks from the tasting room.

Coffee Shops

all over, MHK

Throw a stick in MHK and odds are you'll hit a delicious, local coffee shop. Coffee shops is one of the top three things Sara misses about Manhattan. Chai lattes are life, and Starbucks just doesn't cut it. Coffee shop chai is the way to go.

Varsity Donuts

704 North Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502
, (785) 539-7654

If you know you know. These donuts are next level. 10/10 recommend the blueberry opal. Thursday-Saturday nights, the Varsity truck is a thing from 9pm-2am.. and what a wonderous thing it is. You MUST try a grilled cheese mac 'n' cheese if you go. Just trust us on this one. (Sara is also a big fan of corndogs.) Of course, they also have donuts--both fresh and warm, and cheap leftovers from that day. So, so good.

The Chef

111 South 4th Street, Manhattan, KS 66502
, (785) 537-6843

This is Sara's favorite breakfast place in Manhattan. It's usually pretty blasted busy on the weekends, so go at your own risk. While you wait, they have delicious cocktails you can drink in the waiting area/outside.

Taqueria Los Burritos

2273 Tuttle Creek Boulevard, Manhattan, KS 66502
, (785) 844-2208

This is the taco truck we went to during our engagement photoshoot. It. Is. Delicious.

Sunset Zoo

2333 Oak Street, Manhattan, KS 66502
, (785) 587-2737

Manhattan's zoo is actually pretty great! Most of it is outside, so the weather will play a factor in how enjoyable this venture would be.

Flint Hills Discovery Center

315 South 3rd Street, Manhattan, KS 66502
, (785) 587-2726

Fun, interactive shebang for the kiddos!

Konza Prairie Nature Trail

Konza Prairie - Nature Trail, Manhattan, KS 66502

Hike the Konza, go look at the pretty view from Top of the World or Scenic Overview, and sit in the A-hole at Manhattan Hill--for the outdoorsy folks!

AGGIVEVILLE!

1125 Moro Street, Manhattan, KS 66502

If you know, you know. Aggieville is a conglomeration of stores, restaurants, and bars. The time of the game is TBD, but Aggieville will have quite a few K-State fans. That being said, it's a pretty neat place. Sara recommends checking it out. The bride and groom are going to Aggieville after the reception for a cocktail at Auntie Mae's, a Belfast at O'Malley's, and who knows what else. Anyone is welcome to join us!
