Two locations. One is a great bar right on the Stonington harbor; the other is off Route #1 closer to Mystic, which has barbeque as part of the menu. This is also where the afterparty will take place!
Water Street Cafe
One of the Groton favorites in the heart of Stonington Village owned by Walter & Stephanie Houlihan. Excellent fare with cozy bar.
Noah's
Great home cooking fare. Lots of local fish offerings. Also known for breakfast. Just down the street from the Water Street Café. Another cozy bar, too.
Milagro Cafe
Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine across the street from the Water Street Café.
Breakwater
Best spot in Stonington Village to take in the view of the outer harbor and Fisher’s Island Sound. Good fare; great bar; lots of outdoor tables.
Whitecrest Eatery
Current John & Alice Groton favorite. Located in a former velvet mill. Farm-to-table; all local ingredients.
Stonington Pizza Palace
Local place for Greek style pizza, grinders (subs), salads and other basic fare.
Red 36
Along the Mystic River, a very popular bar/restaurant. Great place to grab a drink and an app with water views. Walking distance to downtown Mystic.
Engine Room
Walking distance to downtown Mystic, this is popular bar and restaurant is known for its bourbons and craft beers. Excellent burgers (and the best GF buns!)
Bravo Bravo
Around the corner from Engine Room, this is a solid Italian restaurant.
S&P Oyster Restaurant and Bar
Situated right on the Mystic River. Excellent food, though busy and sometimes difficult to get in.
Oyster Club
One of the best restaurants in CT. Recently renovated completely and expanded to include the “treehouse,” an outdoor dining area. In downtown Mystic.
Mia's Cafe
Right on the bridge overlooking the Pawcatuck River and neighboring Westerly, RI. Good spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.
Mystic Seaport
The most well-known of the tourist attractions. Best maritime history museum in America.
Mystic Aquarium
One of America’s top aquariums.
Barn Island
1100-acre nature reserve that hugs Little Narragansett Bay. Easy trails to walk with good views. One of Sara's favorite places on earth :)
Watch Hill
The classic New England beach town that basically shuts down in the winter. Has the oldest continuously operated carousel in the country. Taylor Swift has a summer home here :) Might want to have a drink at the Ocean House or get an ice cream (best ever - Sara's favorite as a kid!) at the St. Clair Annex. Another dining spot is the Olympia Tea Room, which has been around since 1916.
