Amy and I went here on our first date!
Where Amy and I went for a pre-dinner drink while we waited for our table at Bamboo on 2nd
One of our favorite breweries!
A delicious, Birmingham classic for lunch or dinner!
Pepper place hosts a farmer's market every Saturday morning from 8am-noon and it is so much fun! They have live music, beautiful wildflowers, various food choices, etc. If you have time, I hope you can check it out!
The cutest and most unique bar downtown in our humble opinion! Well-decorated with the most extensive specialty cocktail list I've ever seen!
The best Pho and Vietnamese in Birmingham! This is the first place I took Amy on a date to show her Pho (which she had never had before!) and their beignets! I took a bite of one of the beignets for dessert and she made me laugh, so the powered sugar exploded in my face!
Saw's is Sara's pick for the best BBQ in Alabama! From the pulled pork plate to the fried pickles to the pork rind and pimento cheese appetizer, this place is delicious!
This is Amy's recommendation for BBQ in Birmingham! She jokes that she "should own stock in Dreamland"! She loves them for their ribs and their tangy bbq sauce!
Sloss Furnace helped establish Birmingham as an industrialized and successful city and is an important landmark! Also the day of our wedding they are having a mimosa festival! Feel free to go before you come to the wedding, but don't get too lit ;) https://www.facebook.com/events/sloss-furnaces-national-historic-landmark/magic-city-mimosa-festival/392812589436342/?paipv=0&eav=AfayO5EjqOYUbiqQhbtqcjsivfG8sUnLJqMZ6b6kAd93BPBlx4Rt-dwMpTrWpWa5Zlk&_rdr
This bar used to be The Atomic Lounge, where Amy and I had one of our best date nights, but now it is the House of Found Objects! Confession: we haven't been since it has been revamped but we can't wait to try it out! If it is at all as cool at Atomic was then you're sure to have a fabulous time!
Another point of foodie contention is whether Eugene's hot chicken is superior to Hattie B's Hot chicken... I'm on Eugene's side and they are a more local restaurant! But you can decide for yourself ;) Definitely give the pickled okra a chance and you won't be disappointed!
I feel like our city has one of the best art museums and even more astonishing, it has free admission! Please go check out all of the beautiful art and see the beautiful art deco buildings of downtown.
This bakery is thus far my favorite in Birmingham because it is reasonably priced, there is plenty of seating, and they offer breakfast and lunch as well as delicious pastries and bread! Grab a coffee and check it out! Maybe scope out the antique store right next to it if you're into that :)
