Things To Do in B'HAM

Birmingham is such a fun city, and that is one reason we picked Vulcan as our venue. We cannot wait to get married over the city where we met, got to know each other, fell in love, and that has a special place in our hearts. Here are some places you should check out in Birmingham while you're here!
EastWest

EastWest

2306 2nd Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203
, (205) 202-4496

I surprised Amy with a fancy date night and took her here! Afterwards, we went to the Redmont Rooftop!

The Roof

The Roof

2101 5th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203
, (205) 957-6828

Surprised Amy on a date night by taking her here after dinner!

Bamboo on 2nd

2212 2nd Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203
, (205) 703-0551

Amy and I went here on our first date!

The Collins Bar

2125 2nd Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203
, (205) 323-7995

Where Amy and I went for a pre-dinner drink while we waited for our table at Bamboo on 2nd

Big Spoon Creamery

4000 3rd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35222
, (205) 703-4712

TrimTab Brewing Company

2721 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233
, (205) 374-8749

One of our favorite breweries!

Saturn

Saturn

200 41st Street South, Birmingham, AL 35222
, (205) 703-9546

Saturn is such a cool place with vintage video games, occasional concerts, and vintage markets! Definitely worth your time while you're in Birmingham! Amy and I went to a disco here in August!

Paramount Bar

200 20th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203
, (205) 320-2824

A delicious, Birmingham classic for lunch or dinner!

The Farmers Market at Pepper Place | Saturday Farmers Market

The Farmers Market at Pepper Place | Saturday Farmers Market

2829 2nd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233
, (205) 490-3176

Pepper place hosts a farmer's market every Saturday morning from 8am-noon and it is so much fun! They have live music, beautiful wildflowers, various food choices, etc. If you have time, I hope you can check it out!

Queen's Park

112 24th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203

The cutest and most unique bar downtown in our humble opinion! Well-decorated with the most extensive specialty cocktail list I've ever seen!

Saigon Noodle House

4606 U.S. 280, Birmingham, AL 35242
, (205) 408-1800

The best Pho and Vietnamese in Birmingham! This is the first place I took Amy on a date to show her Pho (which she had never had before!) and their beignets! I took a bite of one of the beignets for dessert and she made me laugh, so the powered sugar exploded in my face!

SAW’s Soul Kitchen

215 41st Street South, Birmingham, AL 35222
, (205) 591-1409

Saw's is Sara's pick for the best BBQ in Alabama! From the pulled pork plate to the fried pickles to the pork rind and pimento cheese appetizer, this place is delicious!

Dreamland BBQ

1427 14th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35205
, (205) 933-2133

This is Amy's recommendation for BBQ in Birmingham! She jokes that she "should own stock in Dreamland"! She loves them for their ribs and their tangy bbq sauce!

Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark

20 32nd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35222
, (205) 254-2025

Sloss Furnace helped establish Birmingham as an industrialized and successful city and is an important landmark! Also the day of our wedding they are having a mimosa festival! Feel free to go before you come to the wedding, but don't get too lit ;) https://www.facebook.com/events/sloss-furnaces-national-historic-landmark/magic-city-mimosa-festival/392812589436342/?paipv=0&eav=AfayO5EjqOYUbiqQhbtqcjsivfG8sUnLJqMZ6b6kAd93BPBlx4Rt-dwMpTrWpWa5Zlk&_rdr

House of Found Objects

2205 2nd Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203

This bar used to be The Atomic Lounge, where Amy and I had one of our best date nights, but now it is the House of Found Objects! Confession: we haven't been since it has been revamped but we can't wait to try it out! If it is at all as cool at Atomic was then you're sure to have a fabulous time!

Eugene's Hot Chicken - Uptown

2268 9th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203
, (205) 322-7555

Another point of foodie contention is whether Eugene's hot chicken is superior to Hattie B's Hot chicken... I'm on Eugene's side and they are a more local restaurant! But you can decide for yourself ;) Definitely give the pickled okra a chance and you won't be disappointed!

Birmingham Museum of Art

2000 Reverend Abraham Woods Junior Boulevard, Birmingham, AL 35203
, (205) 254-2565

I feel like our city has one of the best art museums and even more astonishing, it has free admission! Please go check out all of the beautiful art and see the beautiful art deco buildings of downtown.

Birmingham Breadworks

2408 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233
, (205) 933-7517

This bakery is thus far my favorite in Birmingham because it is reasonably priced, there is plenty of seating, and they offer breakfast and lunch as well as delicious pastries and bread! Grab a coffee and check it out! Maybe scope out the antique store right next to it if you're into that :)

For all the days along the way
