The Wedding Website of Victoria Fitoussi and Sanford Jackson
We visited San Miguel de Allende last October and fell in love with this vibrant, walkable, artist city. Founded in the 16th century, San Miguel de Allende is known for old world charm and first world amenities. A lively nightlife and abundance of fine restaurants give the mid-sized town a cosmopolitan vibrancy. The center of town is a time capsule of cobblestone streets lined with jewel tone colonial facades and stone colonnades, and overshadowed by La Parroquía, an immense neo-gothic church of pink stone. Nearby day trips include hot springs, high desert hikes, and the Jesuit Sanctuary of Atoltonilco, famous for its murals of angels and demons and over-the-top Mexican Baroque interior. It's safe and walkabable.

Travel Note

Note

If you find that flights into Mexico City are more affordable than into Querataro, please be aware that you will need to travel a longer distance by bus or car to arrive into San Miguel Allende. In the past, we've had pleasant experiences with both Uber and luxury bus services and can recommend a few options that may help keep your travel costs to a minimum.

Flight

Queretaro Airport (QRO

Queretaro Airport (QRO) about 80 KM away or Leon Airport (BJX) about 90 KM away. From there you could get an UBER and that would definitely be cheaper than leaving from Mexico City. Or you have the option of booking private shuttle busses from both Airport to San Miguel de Allende

Flight

Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez

1. Bus from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende You have two bus companies going to San Miguel de Allende from Mexico City: Primera Plus – They only have 2 busses per day going to San Miguel de Allende. Primera Plus is a good company similar to ADO in terms of comfort. ETN – They have different schedules from Mexico City to San Miguel from 6 am to 7 pm. 2. Uber from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende (and DIDI) Uber from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende is possible and pretty pricey. Rates are around 220 USD (4400 MXN) depending on the time of the day you are requesting it. Private shuttle from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende From Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende you will also find private shuttles. They are as expensive as Uber but I would consider them more reliable because they are organized by dedicated companies.

Travel Note

AirBnb

There are lots of beautiful Airbnbs. We recommend something near Hotel Casa Cien as this part of town is charming and extremely walkable.
