Guruvayur Temple
The Guruvayur Temple a famous Indian Hindu temple located in the town of Guruvayur in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu but popularly known as Krishna. It is one of the most important places of worship for Hindus in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and is often referred to as Bhuloka Vaikuntha. Temple timings 3am to 1:30pm & 4:30pm to 9:30pm
Punnathur (Elephant) Kotta
Punnathur Kotta houses one of the largest elephant sanctuaries for captive elephants in the world. Elephants here are allowed to roam in their natural surroundings. The route from the temple to the kotta takes one through the town of Guruvayur which one would normally miss out on if only visiting the temple. Timmings 9am to 5pm

The Pooram is centered on the Vadakkunnathan Temple, with caparisoned elephants, sparkling parasols, and percussion music to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva, the presiding deity.
