The Beginning
How We Met
Sanhi was a senior at UT Austin, and Prem was working as a Software Engineer at Amazon when they met in Austin, TX. What started as a first date over dinner at Titaya’s Thai Cuisine quickly blossomed into a friendship, rooted in a shared love for exploring Austin’s most vibey tiki and rooftop bars and enjoying live jazz music together.
The Proposal
A Very Easy "Yes"
After a year of long distance while Sanhi was in graduate school in NYC, Prem and Sanhi continued to grow even closer. They made countless memories during visits, exploring New York City together and discovering the heaven on earth that is Roma’s Rainbow Pizza (iykyk). The proposal weekend was a beautiful throwback to their early relationship days in Austin, revisiting their favorite restaurants and special spots around the city. On Sunday afternoon, September 21st (an homage to their relationship song, “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire) Prem got down on one knee at the scenic Mount Bonnell overlook, with the Austin hills and river behind them. With her heart beating fast, a few happy tears, and deep gratitude for how far they had come together, Sanhi said yes to forever. After the proposal, Sanhi’s two sisters and Prem’s sister, Akshaya, were waiting at the end of the overlook with a surprise celebration. They had set up a table filled with photos of the couple, bundt cakes, flowers, and plenty of opportunities to capture the moment!

Now they're excited to enter their next chapter of their life & to celebrate their wedding surrounded by the people they love the most. Here's to endless laughter and finding joy in life's simplest moments, from discovering new music together to always searching for that perfect bowl of curry ramen.
