Like many singles, Joe and Sandra spent years looking for love in all the wrong places. After meeting online, Sandra met Joe after the closing of one of her operas. They spent hours talking about music, family, and their very different lives. As the bar closed down, Joe walked Sandra back to her red line train to make sure she got home safe. Sandra got home safely that night, but Joe knew pretty quickly his heart was in danger. After their first meeting, Joe tried to see her again. Unfortunately, Sandra is a busy lady and had planned travel with friends and family as she was living her best life. Once she returned to Chicago...you guessed it... she immediately went back to her hectic opera life and rehearsals. Joe was very excited when Sandra finally had time for another date. However, unlike the Hallmark movies, Sandra showed up recovering from food poisoning the night before. No matter the complications, Joe knew he had met the smart, kind, beautiful woman of his dreams. Sandra really liked him too, but she had heard the song and dance from fancy city men before, so Joe was going to have to put in some work. Little did he know, but she still had more surprises in store. Just as they started to connect, Sandra headed west for 4-5 months for work. Joe promised he would visit as their relationship was at an early crossroads. He planned a romantic weekend trip to see Sandra in hopes things would progress. He immediately felt the same butterflies and was so excited spending time with Sandra in her element, even as her family arrived unexpectedly. Reconnecting after months apart was just what they needed. Since she returned, they've been inseparable. They traveled the National Parks, Europe, and south of the border for more amazing memories. On 9-1-19, Joe surprised her by popping the question at Taft Point after a day of hiking in Yosemite. Sandra said yes, but the adventure was just beginning.
