Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Por los gringos, imagine the movie Good Morning Vietnam! Por los latinos, imagine a chilly spring day. In all seriousness, the weather in Cartagena is tropical and warm all year. In late March, you can expect a high of 88° and a low of 76° - with a pretty strong chance of humidity.

Question

Why Cartagena?

Answer

Sandra was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, only a few hours from the border of Colombia. Similar to Maracaibo, Cartagena is a tropical coastal city that boasts colorful homes and bustling streets. Given the political climate in Venezuela, we felt Cartagena would represent the closest image and homage to Sandra’s South American and Venezuelan cultural roots. For those interested in Dwight's cultural roots, please watch Gossip Girl and Braveheart.

Question

What should I know about Cartagena?

Answer

Founded in 1533, Cartagena is a vivacious city that was once the key colonial port for the Spanish empire in the Americas. Located on the sea, Cartagena's walled "Old Town" is filled with squares, cobblestone streets, colorful colonial buildings - and the location of wedding! Tourism has expanded rapidly over the last decade, leading to the development of many beautiful boutique hotels, fine dining restaurants and nightlife.

What is Tropical Black Tie?

Answer

If its your first time hearing of "Tropical Black Tie", don't worry - you and the groom already have something to bond over! Answer

10% is customary and the waiter usually asks to include it in the bill.
