FAQs

Question

Is the wedding outside?

Answer

Yes, it is. We will have a contingency plan should it rain, though.

Question

Is the venue ADA compliant?

Answer

Yes, we want everyone to enjoy our day so all wedding areas and restrooms are accessible.

Question

If this place is 40 minutes from Grand Forks, how is that going to work?

Answer

UPDATE: The shuttle bus is full! We will have a bus to transport guests from both the Canad Inn and Country Inn Suites to Naastad Acres before the ceremony and following the dance. You are also welcome to drive to Naastad Acres. Directions are provided below and there is a large parking lot on site. We want everyone to be safe and enjoy our special day!

Question

Any suggestions for childcare?

Answer

While we do not have any experience with these particular facilities, below is a list of places that have drop-in childcare. You may also want to check with your hotel to see if that is something they offer. https://www.littlekeepersdropin.com/little-keepers-grand-forks-hours-and-rates.html https://www.care.com/night-child-care/grand-forks-nd

Question

What is the parking situation at Naastad Acres?

Answer

There is a large parking lot on-site.

Question

What time should we arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony starts at 4:00 pm. We suggest you arrive 30 minutes early given the number of guests we are expecting and to make sure everyone is seated by the time the ceremony begins.

Question

Can we take pictures and post on social media?

Answer

UPDATE: We will have QR codes available for you to upload any photos or videos you'd like to share with us. No need for an app to download - you just scan, pick your pics, and hit upload! Easy-peasy! We will be using GuestPix if you want to check it out ahead of time. Can we actually stop you?? :) We respectfully ask that you just be present with us during the ceremony and let our photographer do his thing. After the ceremony, you can take pics and post anything you wish, but we do ask that you NOT post pics of the bride and groom until we've had a chance to do so first.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

We are aware that we are asking you to attend an outdoor wedding in August, so no need to be ultra formal. We don't want anyone overheating, so things like summer dresses, khakis, short sleeve shirts - all fine. The dinner and dance will also be outdoors, so the temps will cool throughout the evening. A note to the ladies (and gents who dig a spiked heel): Be aware that there will be a lot of concrete and occasional grass, so you may be more comfortable in a chunky heel, wedge, or flats.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, they are! However, we will be doing videography during our ceremony, so we ask that if one of your lovelies just isn't having a great day, that you excuse yourself away from the area so we can capture those very important words we have to say during our ceremony. Your cooperation with this is very greatly appreciated.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

UPDATE: Online RSVPs are now closed. If you have had a change of circumstance and need to reach us about attending or not attending, please email us at hagenwelshwedding@gmail.com.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

In order to keep our guest count accurate, we ask that if you did not receive an "and guest" on your invitation, please reach out to us in advance. We will certainly try to accommodate everyone, but we also don't want to run into any issues with unexpected guests. We appreciate your help with this.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Of course! We need to give our catering team advance notice of any food allergies or special requests, so please reach out to Jeff or Sande sooner than later so we can make sure we are able to work with any dietary needs. You can also add this information when you RSVP through this website.

Question

Is there anything we need to know about Naastad Acres?

Answer

Yes! The main rule is that NO outside alcohol is permitted on the premise. They have their own liquor license and take it very seriously - so we do, too. Any violation of this could result in our wedding being canceled. We really don't want that to happen, so please be respectful of this rule.

Question

Will there be more FAQ's?

Answer

Probably. Please re-visit this page from time to time leading up to the wedding for any changes or new information.

Question

Do I have to RSVP for the shuttle bus?

Answer

UPDATE: The shuttle bus is FULL! Yes, please. We have a limited amount of space on the bus, so we need an accurate count.

Question

What if I have a question that's not listed here?

Answer

Please feel free to reach out to either Jeff or Sande! Our email is hagenwelshwedding@gmail.com

Question

Can we bring alcohol on the shuttle bus to/from Naastad Acres?

Answer

No. There is no outside alcohol permitted on Naastad's premises nor may you take any from the dance back to the bus. The bus service is one that is used by Jeff professionally, so is a means of safe transport to and from the venue - and not a party bus.

Question

How do we get to Naastad Acres?

Answer

The address is 14969 16th St. NE, Hatton, ND 58240. You can plug that into Maps, Waze, etc. Otherwise, from Grand Forks, head south on I-29 - about 20 miles. Take the Reynolds exit (Exit 123) and head west (right) on Eagle Ave NE for about 14.5 miles. At 16th Street NE, take a left. The venue will be down the road a bit on the right.
