Question

What is a Baarat?

Answer

A Baraat is the groom's procession into the wedding ceremony. The procession signifies an age-old tradition of the groom who would travel an average of five to seven days to his bride's home. Upon arrival, the groom makes a statement with a grand entrance accompanied by his friends and family to impress the bride's family. Nowadays, the baraat is condensed to 30 minutes of dancing and celebration and the groom typically enters on a horse or transport of his choice, accompanied by sisters/cousin-sisters. Our baarat will commence prior to the ceremony promptly at 4:00pm on September 1st, 2024 near the entrance of Villa Lombardi's.
