WHERE OUR PATHS FIRST CROSSED Mohini and Sanam both attended Academy 1 Middle School and McNair Academic High School, but crossed paths for the first time during Science Fair at Liberty Science Center in March 2009. Mohini was presenting her science fair board to judges while Sanam was playing with an air bazooka toy he bought from the gift shop. Mohini paid him no mind… WHERE OUR PATHS CROSSED AGAIN It was Field Day in May 2009 and the whole school was out playing sports at our neighborhood park. Amongst friends, they were supposed to form a football team. Mohini recollects Sanam being there but not knowing who he was. After realizing there wasn’t enough team members, they trailed off and went their separate ways. THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM- HOW WE OFFICIALLY MET It was Fall of ’09 when Jay Sean’s ‘Down’ was all over the radio. Sanam was really into his music production and Mohini…into AP Biology and getting good grades. Sanam formally introduced himself and shared his passion for music with Mohini, which is how she came to know him. Through many conversations and mutual friendships, Mohini, a Gujarati girl and Sanam, a Bengali boy became the closest of friends. Unknown to them back then, that would be the start of a 14 years long journey to their wedding day. SEPERATE PATHS, BUT ALWAYS TOGETHER Mohini continued her education at Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in Rutgers State University New Brunswick and Sanam studied at the Business School in Rutgers State University Newark. After graduating, Mohini started her career in pharmaceutical marketing, allowing her to use her creative skills and pharmaceutical knowledge. Sanam started his career as a CPA for a Big4 accounting firm in NY and now works as an Assistant Controller in NJ. As you can tell, they have always been on vastly different roads throughout life. They differ in personality as well. Mohini is expressive, approachable, quick to action, and quick to make friends. Sanam is analytical, a deep thinker with a smaller circle, and takes his time before making decisions. You can imagine that these two are always at odds with each other, however their opposing personalities have allowed them to be the better half of each other. Differences aside, both are definitely similar in their competitive nature. They have been notorious for elbowing each other as best friends would and after 14 years of this beautifully matured friendship, the two are ready to journey on one road together for the rest of their lives.
