Our story begins in the wee morning hours of Spring 2016, two wandering souls stumbled upon each other in the unlikeliest of places. Knowing Summer & Jarbari, a chance meeting in an unlikely place is the highest probability. From the beginning, we knew it was meant to be when Summer’s mom paid a surprise visit after a night of partying with her new beau and found him lingering in the shadows of her bedroom (shhh). Yet, Margaret was in tune with his loving spirit and instantly loved him, as Summer did. If you’ve heard about Ms. Margaret (R.I.P), then you know getting her blessing in one day is unheard of! Jarbari left his home in St. Croix to come to the states on his own at the age of 16. He was all alone in the US until he was blessed to be welcomed into the hearts and home of a loving San Fernando Valley family, far from the past he’d left behind. With his new family, he set off on grand adventures traveling the world, igniting a passion for learning about other cultures. We now infuse these discoveries into the story of our food and our love. Summer’s story was quite different, brought up in SoCal with a younger brother she shared a tight-knit bond with her only sibling, this gave her a sense of security feeling accepted for who she really was. As they grew into their own, over the years Summer felt lost without the reassurance of her confidant. Jarbari divinely came into Summer’s life filling a void she didn’t know existed. At last, a gentle love that allowed her free spirit to soar with his to their highest potential. The tragic losses of recent years brought us close, walking side-by-side through every twist and turn. We feel the spirit of our angels in the midst, healing our broken hearts and mending our wounds. We hope our aura of resilience, and our passion for life, cultural arts, fine food, and music is illuminated throughout our wedding. Our journey has led us to a lifelong partnership. We look forward to celebrating our union with you!
