Travel Note
At this time the ETIAS visa has been delayed. It is unlikely this will be required for our wedding! Please keep an eye out for any updates. It is anticipated that from mid-2025 onwards, all US/UK/Australian citizens will need to apply for the ETIAS Italy visa linked below. This should only take a few minutes, and most visas will be granted within 72 hours. This visa will be automatically linked to your passport.
Flight
The nearest international airport is Naples (NAP) which services most major cities and is ~1 hour 15 minutes’ drive to Ravello. From the airport, we'd encourage guests to book a private or semi-private transfer to Ravello for greatest ease. Further details can be found below. Alternatively, you can reach the Amalfi Coast/Ravello by train or by public transport bus.
Flight
Rome (FCO) offers many direct flights and is ~3.5 hour drive to the Amalfi Coast/Ravello. You can book a private transfer from Rome Airport to Ravello, or choose to take the high speed train to Naples which takes ~1 hour, with an additional 1 hour 15 minutes’ drive required to Ravello. Rome is the largest airport in Italy and therefore offers non-stop flights from most cities, which are often less expensive than Naples.
Rental Car
We'd recommend booking a private transfer for seamless travel to and from Ravello! Your driver will meet you at baggage claim in the airport, or at the train station, and drop you to the front steps of your accomodation. There are also private transfers available to accomodate large groups, if you are travelling with others. In order to arrange a private transfer, please contact Giorgia on our wedding planning team at giorgia@lovestoryitaly.com who will book on your behalf! We don’t encourage guests to rent a car on the Amalfi Coast, as driving in this region is challenging and parking is limited. If you would still like to rent a car, we highly encourage you to organise parking with your hotel in advance.
Train
You can arrive by train via Naples train station, Napoli Centrale. In Italy, there are two train companies - Italo and Trenitalia. Both companies run frequent high speed trains to Napoli Centrale. Once you arrive in Napoli Centrale, a private transfer can be arranged to bring you to Ravello. This drive is approximately 1 hour. To book your train tickets, please click the button below for Trenitalia, or visit: https://www.omio.com/ https://www.italiarail.com/ Note: Strikes do occur from time to time, but fortunately, Italians schedule strikes in advance, so travellers can plan ahead. For more up to date information, please visit: https://www.italiarail.com/strike-information https://www.italiarail.com/italiarail-faq Note: there is also a train station in Salerno which is an equal distance, but these trains run less frequently compared to Naples.
Travel Note
There is an affordable bus service that runs up and down the Amalfi Coast. However please be prepared that during peak season, buses may be delayed or crowded and make travelling with oversized luggage more challenging.
