Sam and Kristina met how most couple meet these days - on a dating app called Hinge. Before they even met in person, Sam would stay up late to text (and lose iMessage games to) Kristina while she was working night shift in the hospital. They eventually met in person for bad burgers and a Harry Potter marathon, and made their relationship official on January 27, 2020. Their relationship has survived a pandemic, multiple individual moves, graduations, new jobs, cat adoptions and eventually a move in with each other! Today, Kristina is working as a primary care nurse at CHOP and Sam recently finished his PHD in Chemistry from Rowan University and accepted a job with Axcend. They are currently living in Haddon Township, NJ with their two cats Ivy and Rory.

Sam popped the question on the annual Pittas Family vacation to Ocean City, Maryland. Kristina's family was gathered on a bridge at sunset taking pictures while Sam got down on one knee and asked Kristina to marry him. Kristina was so shocked she asked if he was joking before saying yes! Sam’s parents even drove down for the day to be a part of the big event.
