How we met

April 2013

We first met through a mutual friend when Kevin joined the outdoor track and field team during his senior year and my junior year of high school. That year was my third year on the team, so of course I was like, who is this guy? Kevin gave his number to all of us to make plans for that night, and I texted him so he had my number, so I give myself all the credit, obviously. From there, we started texting and hanging out more. He started to wait for me after fourth period every day, so we could walk down to track practice together. We immediately clicked, and despite the fact that he was leaving for college in 3 months, we knew we were meant to be. On May 29, 2013 I stole his phone before fourth period and changed his relationship status to "in a relationship". If you know us, you probably know how well this depicts our relationship. The rest is history! - Sammy

Engagement

September 22, 2019

I've known for a long time that Sammy is the one for me. It was never a question of if I was going to propose but when. I'd had the ring for a long time not really knowing how to go about it. One day, Sammy asked if we could go apple picking. Apple picking was one of our first dates and that is when the idea came to me! I very nervously tried to figure out what I was going to say so I would be somewhat prepared when I asked. We got to the apple farm and started picking apples, and when we got to a point where it was just the two of us in one aisle, I told her how much I loved her, got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Even though I knew what her answer would be, it was still the most nervous I've ever been but remains one of the best moments of my life. - Kevin
