FAQs

Bailey's on Palomar mountain is a bit off the beaten path. Come prepared.
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

California casual for this wedding! For those of you coming from outside the West Coast, that pretty much means business casual. Bring a jacket for the evenings.

Question

Do we need to bring our own food?

Answer

Each guest will be provided with meals throughout the day as noted in the schedule. We will also have some welcome gifts that will include some snacks along with some odds & ends throughout the day and night at the main house. If you want something else then make sure to bring it up the mountain!

Question

When can we book our cabin, yurt, safari or camping site?

Answer

We are opening the link on the Travel page on April 20th for everyone to book their accommodations.

Question

What if local regulations do not allow gatherings by the fall?

Answer

We've set up a back up plan for a postponed event with the venue, and the airlines and hotels have been good about letting people reschedule/cancel if needed.

Question

Where is the closest place to buy personal and food items?

Answer

The Palomar General Store is less than a 10 minute drive from Bailey's and it is open 9am - 5pm. While they do have the necessities, it is far from a full grocery store. So, make sure to do your food shopping before you drive up the mountain. Get there: https://www.palomarmountainstore.com/map

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

You'll have an opportunity to note this with your RSVP. If you miss that, please send an email to sammonsballwedding@gmail.com with details and we will make sure you make it through the weekend a happy and healthy camper!

Question

ADA Access & Accommodations

Answer

We understand that an outdoor wedding in the forest is not the most accessible destination for a wedding. If you have any special requirements, please send an email to sammonsballwedding@gmail.com so we can plan accordingly. This shindig is for every body!

Question

Is there parking for just the ceremony or reception?

Answer

If you are not planning on staying overnight we will certainly have parking for you. Details will be posted here closer to the big day!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Discouraged, but allowed.

Question

I've never been to a forest before. What should I bring?

Answer

Camping gear (if you're camping) Cooler and/or water jugs (grab ice down at sea level) Lantern / flashlight / headlamp (AND extra batteries!) Stainless steel water bottle (or two!) Camping chairs, tables, and anything else that might help create a comfy home-away- from home Rain gear (failure to bring it increases the chance of rain) Your favorite hoodie (yes, it CAN get cold in CA) Extra shoes/sneakers (treat yo feet!) Mud boots (in case it rains) Bug spray (we recommend without DEET – be green!) Sunscreen A hat for shade WATER A bandana (nice for when you're walking the dirt paths with friends) Sunglasses A couple bags for trash (they do provide some bags for trash and recycling, but extras are nice) Toilet paper (you never know) ā€ Nice to have, but not needed: Phosphate-free and sulfate-free soaps, detergents and shampoos Smokers – bring a pouch. Keep it clean! Blanket (for sitting in nature) Earplugs (for sleeping if you don't like the sounds of nature)

For all the days along the way
