Travel Note
Please be aware that Seattle Pride is on June 23, and there will be road closures for the parade route in Seattle. Winslow Way on Bainbridge is also closing in celebration from 12-6pm. If you are traveling to the mainland on Sunday we recommend leaving extra time and bringing extra patience for road closures and traffic delays. 🏳️🌈
Rental Car
We highly recommend renting a car for ease of access around the Kitsap Peninsula and greater Seattle area. There are many car rental options available at the airport, or you can rent from Enterprise's Poulsbo location.
Train
You can take the light rail in from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Cross over to the parking garage using the sky bridge, and follow signs for the Link Light Rail to board the train towards University of Washington. Exit the light rail at Pioneer Square Station and walk to the Colman Ferry Dock. Board the ferry to arrive on Bainbridge Island.
Travel Note
Once on the Island, the downtown area is only a short walk away from the ferry terminal. To get around the island without a car, you can hire a taxi to take you to your destination, or take a public commuter bus. The buses are easy to use but run around ferry schedules to and from the ferry, and can make travel around the island difficult in any other direction. Bus fare is $2. Taxis on the island are often filled by groups of people, so plan on taking (and paying for) the scenic route to your destination. Uber and Lyft are occasionally available, but not reliably.
Travel Note
Bainbridge is most easily accessed by a 35 minute ferry ride from Seattle's Colman Dock. Washington State Ferries boards cars onto all Seattle-Bainbridge Island sailings, and you do not need reservations in advance. Please note that heavy vehicle traffic can occur on summer weekends, so we recommend checking wait times in advance online if you plan to drive, and planning to leave early when boarding a ferry. When walking on the ferry, you only purchase a ticket from the Seattle side (it is free to board the ferry on the Bainbridge side.)
