Sam's cousin Bryce and Jennifer met in Ms. Eden's third grade class. Bryce and Jennifer didn't spend much time together as they went through school and onto college, but had a couple mutual friends (hi, Davis!) Those mutual friends are what landed Bryce and Jennifer at the same small New Year's Eve gathering in 2013, and Sam, being new to the area, tagged along. When Sam and Jennifer started dating, Bryce proudly took a moment to thank himself, and he counts this as a solid win for his matchmaking record.
Sam and Jennifer have a goal of visiting all the national parks, so proposing at Acadia National Park in Maine was an easy choice for Sam. Plus, the landscape just felt like home. Sam took Jennifer on a sunset picnic to a small beach just outside of the park. After he proposed, a bald eagle flew over the beach, which is clearly a sign that America approved of their decision.
In vague wedding dress code language - cocktail attire, or daytime semi-formal. What that actually means is we want you to be comfortable - so please dress for the weather! Consider wearing low or flat shoes for an outdoor reception, and bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening. Military members are invited to wear dress uniforms if they wish to do so.
Yes! There will be a variety of food throughout the evening, and all dishes will be clearly labeled (including identifying potential allergens, and whether the food is vegetarian or vegan.)
If you need to change your RSVP please reach out to Jennifer or Sam directly.
In order to give our vendors an accurate headcount, please RSVP by May 1, 2019.
We know so many of you traveled to be with us and we are so honored and happy to celebrate with you! For that reason we ask that you please put your phone away during the ceremony and participate with us at that time. And feel free to Instagram it up during the reception! Tag any photos you post on social with our hashtags so we can find them later: #putthepartyinbipartisan #amoreperfectunion
Yes! Onsite parking is available, and there will be parking attendants to assist with a smooth flow of traffic.
First, thank you! And since we are traveling for the wedding, please ship gifts to our Connecticut address. We would hate for something to be damaged in transit.
We are true Pacific Northwesterners and we will soldier on. Make like a local and pack some layers.
We're so glad you asked! Neither Sam nor Jennifer could stomach the idea of standing in line at the DMV twice in one year, so for now Jennifer and Sam are just fine, but more formally, Mr. Sam Wharton and Ms. Jennifer Fay.
Sam and Jennifer are both big politicos, so "borrowing" from the preamble seemed to fit just right.
We will be outside on a working farm, so be on the look out for uneven ground, electric fences, and farm animals. The venue asks that children be supervised at all times for this reason. The ceremony and reception areas are clearly marked, and while you are free to explore the grounds, please be extra careful where you step as the farm harvest supports local families!
