Sam and Steve had been together only three short months when Sam took the long journey to Hawaii to visit him. Sam already knew that there was no other human more perfect for her and so she asked Steve if he wanted to elope on Thursday... it was a Tuesday. Being the sensible man that he is, Steve said they should wait. They agreed that a couple should live together for one year before getting married, to establish if they could truly be compatible. Otherwise, you may run the risk of one "accidentally" smothering the other with a pillow for snoring too loudly. When the Coronavirus pandemic hit, Sam's school shut down and she decided to close the distance between them. She packed what she could into boxes and moved across the country to be with him. They lived happily together for one year -- until Steve's contract was up with the Navy and Sam graduated school virtually. Then they moved home to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania just in time for the holidays. Much like the classic Bon Jovi song, these two love birds were living on a prayer. New apartment, new town, new jobs, they had begun a brand-new life. With Christmas right around the corner, Steve decided this would be the perfect opportunity to finally pop the big question to Sam. Hiding the ring in a special spot, he waited until all other presents were opened. Carefully, he brought out the last present neatly wrapped while maintaining the ring in his pocket. Sam's face lit up as she opened the box. But confusion quickly drew furrowed brows as she stared into an empty box. Steve then pulled the ring out of his pocket as uttered the four words that would forever change their lives, "Will you marry me?" Sam explosively responded with a resounding "YES!" showering her now fiancé with kisses and hugs. The rest, as they say, is history.
