Boy and Girl meet in high school. They hang out, they flirt, they steal a kiss or two and they each develop a crush...but neither of them admit it. They graduate high school and go separately off into the big world. Samantha eventually wound up in Milwaukee and Stephen moved to Georgia. On a cold winter night in Wisconsin, Samantha received a message from a boy she had a crush on nearly 13 years earlier. He finally admitted having a crush on her. They spent a few months getting to know who they each had become over the phone from 850 miles away, and when he came back to Wisconsin to visit, they decided to meet once again. Then on a beautiful spring night, Samantha walked into the bar and before she even had a chance to say "hello", Stephen pulled her in and kissed her. But despite the magic between them, they still had lessons to learn on their own, and without admitting their feelings they went their separate ways. Seasons changed and so did they- and after some time, Stephen decided to take a chance and ask his crush on a real date. It was around that time that he told her "Just so you know, I'm going to marry you someday.". And when he came home next, she finally admitted her crush on him too. So when he asked her to fly south to ring in the new year, she followed her heart and booked a ticket. Stephen warned her that when she came to visit she "might never want to leave". And so, after visits back and forth to each other, they started a long-distance relationship. On March 17th, 2020, due to the pandemic, Safer-at-Home orders were enacted which forced Samantha to close her brick-and-mortar business. So she sublet her apartment, packed a suitcase, and headed to Georgia to quarantine. But, as Stephen predicted, she never left. And on a trip home to Wisconsin in July, Stephen decided to pop the question, having known all along that this love was it. She said "yes!", of course. Because 13 years was enough time to wait.
