We met online through a social site and found instant chemistry between our conversations. After a couple months communicating back and forth Paul built up the courage to ask me on a first date. I hesitantly accepted not knowing if Paul was exactly who he said he was. I heard too many flawed stories about meeting people online that ended in unexpected twists. Sadly, I ended up canceling the date shortly before worried about who was on the other end. A few canceled dates later Paul gave up with frustration and told me he wasn't going to reach out any longer. Suddenly on Christmas day Paul reached out to wish me a Merry Christmas. Something deep in my heart sparked that gave me a sudden curiosity to meet Paul. We met Christmas day and the rest is history.
The year in our first home was filled with gatherings of family and friends for every holiday. The prepping for each of these festivities always had me (Samantha) planning food, decor, and activities. Little did I know the biggest holiday of the year had Paul planning for something else. It was Christmas 2015 and we decided we were going to compete for the most memorable gift between the two of us. The big day came and our family and friends gathered for the holiday festivities in our home. Our children, nephews and younger siblings lit the house with their giggles and laughs. Everyone was having a great time and the food had everyone's belly full. Shortly after the clean up our guests gathered around the Christmas Tree to open gifts. The kids were full of excitement and ready to see what Santa had brought them for being good all year. After the last gift was passed out Paul turned facing me, glared into my eyes and grabbed both my hands. I felt like something big was about to happen and wondered what was going through Paul's mind. He suddenly got down on one knee and announced he had one last gift. He asked me to Marry him with all our loved ones around and I SAID YES!
