We were in Hawaii on the island of Kauai with Luke's family for vacation. The day before he proposed we found a gorgeous cove tucked away on the island beneath the resort. We watched the sun go down and talked about the ups, downs, and arounds of our relationship over the past two years before heading back to the room. The next day, we were swimming in the pool when Luke told me that I needed to dress up that night for dinner. (Clue #1) Then later he told me we would walk to the restaurant and his family would meet us there. (Clue #2) I went back to the room and got ready. We started walking down to the beach together and I saw a big box in his back pocket... it was happening! He took me down to the beach and under a tree we found a bottle with a map of the island! The map gave me a clue of where to go next, so we walked down the beach to the cove we had spent time in the day before. We came up to a treasure box on the cove (luckily it wasn't buried) and I opened it. There were momentos from our relationship signifying different stages of our life together. There was also a letter explaining the significance of each item. I finished reading the letter and looked up at him. He told me how much he loved me and how excited he was for our future. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was crying so much all I could do was nod as he put the ring on my finger. Then I realized he probably wanted a real answer and said "Yes!"
