Maid of Honor
The best part about having a sister is no matter how much you grow together or apart, you are always connected. From conscious memory to end of high school, Kiki and I were on and off mortal enemies. My belongings, friends, animals, always shared or stolen depending on who you asked. The idiom "distance makes the heart grow fonder" truly defined how we went from prison mates to best friends as we literally grew further in distance from one another. Now, I always look forward to spending close time together and don't know how I would make it through life's achievements and heartaches without her.
Best Man
I met Max for the first time when he showed up to my kickball game wearing a homeless Big Bird Halloween costume. He wasn't even on the team, he was just there to support his friends. Since that time, whether it be camping in the remote Canadian wilderness or sampling Michelin star restaurants in Spain, Max has been there to support me as one of my closest friends.
Bridesmaid
Raised like sisters, "Denal", was literally and figuratively designated as my selected friend on all family trips. Wildwood, NJ - Jones Beach, NY - and OBX, NC, we didn't bring a friend like Kim and Aaron, because we had each other. Whether it be pranking "the parents", winning manhunt or looking for boys on the boardwalk, Dan is my outgoing built-in sister I wouldn't trade the world for.
Groomsman
My older brother and I may not have always seen eye to eye growing up, but as adults, we've grown close and built a bond I truly cherish. Whether its our shared sense of humor, appreciation for Chicago sports, or just recommendations for delicious places to eat, I can always rely on him. He's someone I've always looked up to, and his advice and support have been constants in my life.
Bridesmaid
My earliest and longest friendship, Chava, the girl who "lived in my backyard". Starting with salamander hunting and fort building, leading to now, flying to fun cities just to hang out. A fondness that has not broken through the test of time, I couldn't take this next chapter without her by my side.
Groomsman
Over the years, my younger brother and I have bonded over everything from track and field, to video games, and most recently fishing. While I'd like to say I played the role of supportive big brother, its equally true that Nick has always been there for me. I'm thrilled to have him by my side on this important day.
Bridesmaid
Was it a whirlwind of fate and destiny that brought together Sam and John? No! It was a whirlwind named Erin! The founding mother of Island Family is also the architect of marriage we are celebrating. From beach treasure collecting to shark tooth hunting, we wouldn't be the same without her.
Groomsman
I really got to know Nick while he lived with us for a year in Florida. Whether bonding over video games or beach adventures, his jovial nature makes it easy to be friends with him. Since that time I've truly come to consider him a brother.
Bridesmaid
Introduced to each other by our forever men, it was friendship at first adventure. From foodie finds, to lake portaging, to country hopping, Calla has been my right hand lady for all things at home and abroad. We speak the same gargled language or sometimes through telepathy, life wouldn't be the same without her, sistren from anotha mistren.
Groomsman
I met Ian along with many of the Gainesville Crew as part of a scalloping trip some 9 years ago. His quick wit, sense of humor, and contagious laugh instantly drew me in and we've been close friends ever since.
Bridesmaid
A friendship started on tiny rock in the Caribbean, extending to the deep south, and across North America, Julie has been through it all with me. The highs and lows of vet school and life made exponentially better with her humor and kinship.
Groomsman
Member of the Gainesville Crew and founder of the Mystery Tour, I met Fergus through his lovely wife Aly who attended Auburn with Sam. Supportive and ready for adventure at the drop of a hat, he quickly became a great friend of mine despite his affinity of the Green Bay Packers.
Bridesmaid
A fierce friend and island family member, Mandi has always been in my corner. From scuba diving to War Eagles, from Sunshine's on Nevis to Fat Daddy's in Alabama it is never a dull moment celebrating and adventuring with Mandi.
Groomsman
A seemingly limitless source of energy, Ethan and I have bonded over our green thumbs and underachieving baseball teams. A member of the Gainesville Crew, Ethan is always willing to lend a hand and quickly became a close friend.
Bridesmaid
Introduced through a mutual friend, our island friendship was only the beginning of our sunshine adventures. Sharing crafts, cases, shells and trails, our repertoire of memories only continues to grow.
Groomsman
Despite Terry's inherent fear of all things "nature", his kind-hearted personality ensured that he and I became great friends as part of the Gainesville Crew.
Officiant
One of the most welcoming, thoughtful and creative people we know, Jess is a jack of all trades and second to none. From the first time we were introduced on a scalloping boat, John and I knew we were going to keep this lady. Jess has been an integral friend over the last 9 years and we can't imagine a better person for the job of officially marrying us.
