Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is...we strongly encourage y'all to come dressed up in your favorite Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) / Fantasy attire...for the entire wedding!! (Yes, come to the ceremony wearing a wizard hat, seriously!!) Think costumes like Hobbits, Wizards, Elves, Fairy wings, magical capes, Shining Armor, Medieval style dresses, even dragon outfits. If you need inspiration, simply type "Lord of the rings attire/costumes" into Pinterest or Google. If you would rather not dress in costume, no worries. Please come looking nice and feeling good! There is a decent walk in the woods to get to the amphitheater where the ceremony will be...PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!

Question

What sort of food will be at the reception? Is it allergen friendly?

Answer

ALL of the food and drink served at the wedding will be gluten free (Sam is Celiac). There will be vegan and vegetarian options at dinner and dessert. Dinner will be a taco bar so you should easily be able to avoid other specific allergens. If you have concerns, please reach out.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes! There will be serve yourself beer and wine. As a reminder, there are no rideshares that can access the venue. Please plan accordingly. Please drink responsibly!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes! We love all the children in our lives. If your entire family received an invite, your little ones are included. Please include them when you RSVP. There is a fun play structure right next to the Pavilion where we will be having the reception. There is not a great private or sheltered area for nursing moms and new babies, but please feel comfortable to nurse anywhere and anytime as needed if you have a tiny one.

Question

What is the camping available like?

Answer

As mentioned, there are LIMITED number of free campsites. Please confirm with us (Sam and Jamie) directly if you are hoping to camp there. The campsites are primitive... really just a place to pitch a tent or park a camper van. There are fire pits, but for you non-locals, September is high fire danger season here so no fires will be allowed. The sites are a very short walk away from the Pavilion so you can just park by your campsite.

Question

If the venue is gated, how to arrive and leave?

Answer

Good question! The venue is gated but we have arranged with them to keep the gate open until 8pm on the day of our wedding. After 8:00 p.m. there will be no re-entry allowed. Remember, the gate is not within walking distance from the pavilion and because of a land easement agreement, you are technically not allowed to walk it. If you arrive late (like really late) or there are other gate-complications and you really need to get in, you can try calling our wedding day coordinator, Lexi (503-858-3185) to let you in. The gate automatically opens when you are leaving so no worries about the exit! When you enter the gate, you will go up a long, winding, dirt road. You may think you're in the wrong location as you pass by many houses, but just keep going until you reach an open grassy area and can see a pavilion. Please park in the grassy area and make your way to the Pavilion! The ceremony will be a short hike away, but everyone will gather in the Pavilion first and be guided down all together.

Question

I'm not from there, what will the weather be like in September?

Answer

The weather is usually full blown summer in September. It is typically warm, dry and beautiful. It can get a bit chilly in the evenings so bring an extra layer to the celebration. Average temperatures this time of year range quite a bit- but during the day it could be anywhere between 70-90 degrees and evenings between 50-70 degrees. That being said, you should always pack a raincoat when traveling to WA. The wedding is outdoors and will be rain or shine, so pack a raincoat even though you likely won't need it!

Question

What airport should we be flying into?

Answer

Sea-Tac airport! The airport is about a 30 minute drive to Issaquah and the listed hotel accommodations.

Question

Will there be transportation available to the venue?

Answer

Unfortunately not. If you are traveling from out of town and staying in one of our Hotel blocks- you could likely carpool with other family and friends to the venue if you are not planning to rent a vehicle- so reach out if your looking for that option. Otherwise, there are no shuttles or other modes of transportation so y'all will have to drive to and fro. The route there is pretty simple but there are some back, winding roads - drive safely! As mentioned elsewhere, ride shares like Ubers will not be able to access the venue for pick-ups after 8pm.

Question

I'm traveling from out of town, where should I stay?

Answer

Check out "travel" tab here for hotel information. We have made arrangements with two local hotels for our guests to receive discounts at- one in Issaquah and one in Redmond. Both of these hotels have easy access to the venue and other activities. There are also lots of AirBnBs in the area - Close neighboring cities include Issaquah, Fall City, Snoqualmie, Redmond and even Bellevue.

Question

There is a short hike down to the ceremony location: If I can't hike down to the ceremony, what should I do?

Answer

If your mobility is limited or you are an elder, there is an option to be driven down to the amphitheater where the ceremony will be. One of our family members will be waiting to guide you to their vehicle to give you a safe ride down and back. Please reach out to us if you will be needing this ride so that we can be prepared for you.

Question

Should I bring my dancing shoes?

Answer

Yes! Go ahead and wear your dancing shoes! We will have a local bluegrass band playing at night so get ready for some foot stomping.

Question

How and when to RSVP?

Answer

We ask that everyone kindly RSVP by July 16th, 2023. To RSVP, please visit the "RSVP" tab on this website. It will prompt you to enter your name - you can enter your name, or another family member's name that was included on the invite.
