Sam first noticed Jacob sitting in the school library, wearing a Rogue t-shirt. Naturally, she was intrigued—partly because of him, but definitely because of the shirt and her love for CrossFit. Instead of introducing herself, Sam did what anyone would do… she and her friends did a little quiet investigating to find out who he was—but nothing ever came of it. About a year later, in the middle of pandemic lockdowns—when school was fully virtual and everyone was keeping to their own bubbles—there was almost no chance their paths would cross. But somehow, they did. While working at CrossFit Metric, Sam was asked to give a tour to a potential new member. She saw the name, didn’t think much of it at first, then took a second look… it was Jacob. Out of all the places, they ended up meeting at a gym 45 minutes away from their school, at a time when they otherwise never would have crossed paths. It felt a little like fate had stepped in. From there, everything fell into place. They became training partners, then friends, and before long, something more. After Sam finished her fourth year, she stayed in Toronto while Jacob completed his, and soon after, they made the move to Windsor together. Eventually, they followed a bigger dream—heading to the East Coast to build a life, and a practice, side by side. And the rest is history.
