The Future Skrypeks

It all started with a swipe to the right.... Sam and Connor were both living in North Carolina when they matched on the dating app, Bumble. They promptly set up a date on Friday, July 16th. at a local brewery, Sierra Nevada in Asheville. Sam had just finished finals week of her first year in physician assistant school and was extremely tired--she almost canceled the date the day before! She called one of her Milwaukean best friends, Kayla (bridesmaid), who said "Sam, he's cute and, if anything, you could probably use a drink or five". So..... easily convinced by the drinks, Sam decided to go and met Connor for a few beers at the brewery. Within the first fifteen minutes of their date, Connor knew he was in for the long haul. They both ordered stouts (to Connor's surprise) and quickly got to finding out that they grew up a mere hour and some change away from each other! Two hours flew by and they simply had to call the date quits as the brewery was closing! Connor jumped on the opportunity to walk Sam back to her car and even set up a next date before she drove home. Months later, Connor brought Sam back to Wisconsin for a wedding up in Green Bay. Despite Connor being a Bears' fan, and Sam being a cheesehead (GO PACK), they overcame their differences and had the most wonderful time. Sam even convinced Connor to visit Lambeau field where she purchased a Packer car sticker and promptly stuck it on his Tacoma before he could notice. To this day, Connor will still say his truck depreciates faster because of the Packer sticker, however, Sam's convinced it adds value as it remains on his back window nearly four years later. Currently, Connor and Sam both remain in North Carolina. Though they enjoyed their time living together in Asheville, their quest for success within their careers drew Sam to Winston Salem, NC--2 hours away from Asheville. During their time together, they have completed eight moves, survived almost two years of long distance, acquired a graduate degree (with another in progress), and become dog parents to two lovely border collie mixes, Rocket and Jett. In their free time, they love to go to local NC breweries, walk their dogs at Salem Lake, and attend game nights with their friends. They enjoy cooking together and trying out new cocktail recipes while their vinyl record plays Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra in the background. On the weekends, they have been Zillow finatics--searching for their perfect home for their little family, dreaming of moving back in together, and obtaining a yard for the doggos! September 6th, 2025 will mark over four years together for Sam and Connor and almost three years of being engaged! They are so thrilled to finally being tying the knot back home in Milwaukee!
