Flight
The easiest airport to fly into is Rome (FCO). There are many nonstop flights from the East Coast, while West Coast travelers will likely connect. You can also fly into Florence (FLR) or Milan (MXP). If you’re already in Europe, Perugia (PEG) is just 30 minutes from Assisi with select direct flights.
Train
To book a train ticket to Assisi, we recommend using ItaliaRail (see link below). There are direct trains from most major cities, but they can sell out, so booking early is best. Routes include: Rome (Roma Termini) → Assisi Florence (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) → Assisi Milan (Milano Centrale) → Assisi
Rental Car
Rental cars are available at all major airports. To really enjoy Italy and everything around Assisi, we recommend renting a (non-electric) car. Having a car will make it much easier to get around and explore the beautiful towns, countryside, and hidden spots at your own pace. Remember to get your International Driver’s License from AAA prior to your arrival!
