Travel Note
Every year, the Rowley family always packed up the car and drove to Maine from Delaware. It is a long drive, however, once you're there it is very convenient and cost effective. The pros are you won't have to rent a car or rely on limited Ubers/Lyft services. The con is that it is a long drive depending on where your starting point is. If you're extending your stay, you could spend a night or two in a more southern coastal town such as Kennebunkport or Portland to break up the drive and to see more of Maine - win win!
Flight
Bangor International Airport (BGR) is the closest international airport with it being a little over an hour away from Downtown Bar Harbor. BGR has popular airline options and direct flights out of major airports such as Philadelphia, DC, LaGuardia (seasonal), and JFK.
Flight
If you prefer to fly directly into Bar Harbor, you're only a 20 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor. If flying into this airport, you'll most likely have a layover in Boston in which you'll board a very small 6-8 seater Cape Air propeller plane that's about a 1 hour ride. This can be a fun and cool experience with great views, however, If you're someone who does not enjoy flying, we strongly recommend steering you away from this option. Also important to note it's not uncommon for Cape Air to have weather-related delays or cancellations due to the small aircraft size, so please plan accordingly.
Hotel
The Bar Harbor Inn is the heart of the weekend and where we will be saying "I do" and having our first dance. This is also where the welcome cocktail hour will be hosted and where you'll find where the Margarette Todd is docked. The Rowley and Houck family will be staying at the hotel. Amenities include an infinity pool, spa and direct access to a gorgeous walking trail right on the water. The views and grounds are stunning and convenient for all the weekend festivities. Unfortunately there are no room blocks, however, you can book your stay already on their website. There are three buildings on the property to choose from.
