Maid of Honor
Kathleen and Samantha have been inseparable since they first met in Elementary school, even when they were living on opposite ends of the world. Kathleen, the former Ottawa Rose of Tralee, and Samantha have so much in common, from being passionate fans of the Backstreet Boys to a love of English men. Kathleen is the life and soul of the party, often until closing time. It is said that she kept the planking trend relevant in Montreal back in the day. She is also a devout Everton fan and wakes up early to watch every game. Kathleen is such a great person and would do anything for her friends and the people around her. Samantha will also be the maid of honour when Kathleen marries her diamond of a fella John this year. 2022 is going to be a special year for both of them.
Maid of Honor
Maid of honour and sister of the bride, Melissa and Samantha have such a great bond. Talking every day, mostly about nothing and always there for each other. Melissa, who once demanded to be called Britney Spears, is a creative soul, great with children and a phenomenal cook unlike her sister. Melissa also enjoys dancing and has competed in many competitions and now she teaches younger kids. Her interest in dancing can be traced back to when she was a toddler, creating her own, now famous, dance to Nelly’s hit song “Hot in Here”. Luckily, we are not getting married on a Saturday since she refuses to miss Hockey Night in Canada. Melissa is caring and goes out of her way to support people in need. She is the best little sister Samantha could have asked for.

Samantha knew Alex would be a friend for life, after she witnessed her flip a table at her birthday party. During the last few years Samantha and Alex have become very close; especially since becoming neighbors. Alex is one of the founding members of the Montreal Mariachi band. Even with her commitment to the band she always makes sure to spend time baking delicious treats for her friends, despite of the many allergies she has to consider. Alex is such a supportive friend and is always there for everyone around her. Evidence of this is the fact that she is still in a hostile dispute with Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger. For the reason being he never responded to her request to sing at Kathleen’s wedding. Samantha can always count on Alex to support her through thick and thin
Bridesmaid
Having met in Elementary school, Kayla has been one of Samantha’s best and closest friends for over 25 years. Fortunately for Samantha, fame did not go to Kayla’s head after she made an appearance on Nickelodeon hit show Kennan and Kel. At home on her skateboard or on the soccer field she is deceptively strong, having once lifted a man tipping the scales over 250 lbs. Kayla is such a fun person to be around and is a phenomenal host, just don’t ask her to pour you a pint of beer… She is always up for taking on challenges and even succeeded in eating 30 chicken wings in under 20 minutes. Samantha was also part of Kayla’s wedding party last year, when she got married to the wonderful Andrew. She and Samantha will always be a significant part of each other’s lives.

Kelsey, also known as Snow White Booty, met Samantha in High School and they remain great friends to this day. They both used to have a passion for creating YouTube videos, (un)fortunately they never went viral… Kelsey did manage to become a local celebrity. Since she won the inaugural 2018 Ladderball championship in Montreal and even featured on CTV News. If you are ever looking for the album of everyone's embarrassing photos, she is the one to go to. She would always make sure to leave the house with her precious digital camera, named blue moon. One of Samantha’s favourite memories of Kelsey is when she skydived in Cuba only wearing shorts and sandals. Despite the fact she lives in Ottawa she and Samantha continue to remain close and see each other as much as possible.
Bridesmaid
Samantha and Valerie became friends in High School and danced at the local studio together. Valerie’s passion for dancing was not just limited to the studio. She won every dance off that she became involved in at bars. Valerie and Samantha have a passion for traveling having spent time together in many countries. Whilst Valerie was visiting Japan she christened a boat by smashing a bottle of Champagne on the side of it. Samantha was part of Valerie’s bridal party when she married the loving Chris back in 2019. Last year, they moved back to Chris’ native land of Australia, living in Melbourne. Valerie is lucky enough to enjoy her husband’s cooking every night.. Even though they live on opposite sides of the world they know their friendship will continue as they talk most days.
Best Man
Born on the same day and in the same hospital, we have been brothers from other mothers since day one! Having reconnected, after I moved back from Chicago, we have been friends ever since. Rich is a genuine culture vulture and is also into his fitness. So, it will come as no surprise that he decided to take part in the Paris Marathon, combining two of his passions into one. But the fact that he is a member of Tottenham Hotspur fan club proves that nobody is perfect! Ever since I moved to Canada we have stayed in constant contact and he is the best friend I could have asked for! He is more often than not a lot of people’s favourite person. Although he still refuses to share his award-winning tiramisu recipe, maybe after a few drinks you might be able to get it out of him!

My older and only brother, when we were younger we were always outside kicking a football around. We also used to try and sneak outside at 6.30am some Saturday mornings to play. As you can imagine our neighbours and parents did not appreciate it, so most of the times we were thwarted. During the summer months, while I was at university, we used to work together during the harvest season. Mainly doing the tractor and trailer work, he taught me a lot of things and we still laugh reminiscing about all the weird and wonderful characters we had to deal with! Since becoming a dad he has less time on his hands. But he does still find time to go shooting but sadly he had to cut back on his other passion, battle re-enactments. He has always had my back and know that he is always here for me.

I have known Chris “Douggy” since we were 3 years old when we met at pre-school. Ever since our paths crossed again, when we were 10 years old, he has been one of my closest friends. We spent years playing in the same football (soccer) team – Godmanchester A Team. We were both part of the winning team and won the Huntingdonshire under 10’s trophy, despite him being far more talented than me! Douggy, a former church bell ringer, is also a mad keen Golfer. Last summer he raised money for a charity completing a round of Golf wearing only Budgy Smuglers. It should be noted that he does have a shocking taste in music… His favourite album is Willenium, the only CD he ever had in his car! Douggy was always the organizer for nights out and vacations, without him we would not have so many great memories!

I met Henri by chance when I was looking for place to live in Montreal. When I visited the apartment, we got on instantly and shared a lot of common interests. We have been on many sejours together visiting Toronto, Adirondacks and Charlevoix, mainly to go hiking. Henri is now a qualified Hot Yoga instructor and he runs classes every Wednesday. We also enjoy watching “Le Crunch” together and I have enjoyed the games a bit more in the last few years. Luckily for me, this year he was out of town… Henri, who hails from Cognac, is always fun to spend time with and he is very funny – even without meaning to be. For instance, he is the only man I know who has been tripped up by a sleeping dog. Meeting Henri has made my time living in Montreal so enjoyable!

I have been friends with Josh “Jevans” since Sixth Form, when we met in History class. Even though Josh went to a different school growing up, once we all met him, it was like we had known him for years. Well, some of us actually had since he played for Godmanchester Football B team. Fortunately, we did not scare him away after he got a black eye from a toffee penny, during a Quality Street fight. Josh is an adventurous soul too, having reached the summit of Kilimanjaro before his 20th Birthday! He also lived in South Korea and once resided in the largest penthouse in Southampton. He makes the best bacon sandwiches and apparently coming quite the barista! A man of many different interest and hobbies, he is loved by everyone. Never heard anyone say a bad word about him, even during his stick-insect breeding phase!
Groomsman
Andy was also part of the Godmanchester under 10’s trophy winning side. During our under14’s season he was the stalwart of our defence, when we won promotion! We reconnected during sixth form and so happy we did, it was on his 18th Birthday when we claimed our first collection of road signs. Often described as an enigma wrapped up in a riddle, Andy has provided us all with so many great stories. One of my favourite being the time he walked from Leeds to Sheffield (40 miles) carrying only a backpack filled with cartons of Egg Nogg. Andy has spent a lot of time in the Gambia for work, where he was gifted a goat since he was so popular with the locals. Like a rare flower we only see Andy on a few occasions but when we do he is always in full bloom!

John, my fellow expat, and founder of the increasingly popular “skittle shot.” We became friends via our better half’s four years ago when he moved back to Canada. Luckily for both Samantha and Kathleen we became friends instantly and danced the night away to “Come on Eileen.” A passionate Morris Dancer, John loves his music, and you can often find him DJing and keeping the party going. He is also an avid sports fan and at one time he was the only Everton fan in Montreal. Regretfully, he managed to convince one of our friends to become a fan of the people’s club… This year is a big one for both of us, and I am honoured to be one of his groomsmen. John is very outgoing and sociable and often people start talking to him once they hear his think Northern accent!
