Months of planning had gone into this proposal. Charlie had been trying to find the perfect ring, although this was challenging since he did not know the size of her ring finger. Fortunately, he was able to recruit one of her best friends to perform a covert operation. But before he could buy the ring he had to overcome one hurdle...ask her father, Bob, for his blessing. During a Summer's weekend, at Samantha's parents cottage, Charlie was able to ask Bob when they were alone. Fortunately, he simply responded, "yeah sure!" Charlie decided that he was going to propose to Samantha, while they were on vacation in Charlevoix, region North of Quebec City. On the first evening Charlie suggested that it would be nice to go for a walk along the beach. He had to stall for a bit to make sure they were all alone. Then he dropped down on one knee and asked Samantha, "will you marry me." Initially she did not respond, since she was overcome with emotion. But eventually he did get the confirmation that she said YES!
