Unbenownst to us when we started planning our wedding, Vancouver will be hosting 7 matches of the FIFA World Cup next summer, one of which being on July 7, 2026 (2 days before our wedding). Great news for soccer fans! ... unfortunate news for us is that no hotels in the area are accepting group hotel blocks.
Our suspicion is that there should still be plenty of hotel rooms available in Abbotsford (~70 km away from BC Place, where the FIFA World Cup will take place) BUT we do recommend booking your accommodations in advance, just in case.
