We're Getting Married on the Moon!

If the invisible string theory is real, then Sam and Brandon’s was a thank-you balloon string-playful, a little chaotic, and determined to bop them back into each other’s lives until Sam finally paid attention. It all started on August 1, 2021, when Brandon met Sam in the back bar of The Shannon. Yes, the Irish dive bar Sam swore she would never be caught in… unless, of course, it was a very late girls’ night out. They talked, exchanged numbers, and Brandon immediately texted her after she left to say he “loved her vibe” and wanted to grab dinner. Sam woke up, saw the text, remembered absolutely nothing, and in true savage Sam fashion, she posted it to her Instagram story. And so, the balloon string tugged… but they did not float together just yet. One year later, they matched on Hinge right before Christmas. They talked a little… and then Sam ghosted him again. Proving that fate has patience and Brandon apparently has the endurance of a guy running a race he didn’t even sign up for. Fast forward to Emo Night at 8th Street Tavern. Sam was waiting for a drink at the bar, the exact same spot where Brandon happened to be. He recognized her immediately, spent an eternity hyping himself up, and finally mustered up the , “Hey… we’ve met before. I still have your number.” They chatted, then drifted back into the crowd to scream their favorite emo lyrics like two feral teenagers reliving 2008. The next day, Brandon decided to shoot his shot one last time. And this time, Sam said yes… probably because any man who remembers you after two ghostings and one public Instagram roast deserves at least a tiny chance. Two weeks later, after Sam got back from Jamaica, they agreed to meet up with friends. Sam told Brandon he’d spot her easily in the crowd. She’d be the girl with a thank-you balloon tied to her wrist. That night out magically turned into their first date over Italian food at Café Michelina… and from there, the balloon string finally did what it had been trying to do all along. I guess third time’s a charm.
