They danced around each other their entire lives, their families first meeting at church and Garrett & Bryce (Sam's Brother) playing tee ball together. Sam first encountered Garrett in their Elementary years--him at his sister Brittany's volleyball game, and Sam with her mom as she coached the cheer team. Years later, Garrett and Bryce found themselves on another team together, this time playing water polo at La Habra High. Sam saw Garrett again but their age gap and enrollment at different schools kept them from getting acquainted. In college, Garrett's good friend Dustin suggested he pursue Sam. He resisted out of respect for knowing her older brother and continued to do so until the day Dustin married the love of his life, Haley--one of Sam's closest friends. When Sam walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid that day, Garrett knew he had to talk to her. He gathered his courage to greet Mr. & Mrs. Stowell later at the reception, hoping to get Sam to notice him. She did and he asked her out that night, taking her to Cha Cha's for their first date days later. Garrett shortly broke things off though, not due to lack of desire, but to focus more on becoming the man he wanted to be. "This isn't the last we've seen of him" said Sam's best friend, Kaci. Though Sam thought of Garrett that year, they never spoke. She pursued her career and faith, traveling to Chile & Australia, while Garrett worked tirelessly to build a business and invest in his future. When Sam returned from Oz, she unexpectedly heard from Garrett, who was persistent to date her again. He had been telling Dustin for months of his desire, but with every attempt, Sam discouraged him. The odds looked futile until finally, after much prayer and coffee dates with Haley, Sam text Garrett on his birthday, a day he says he'll never forget. They went back the scene of their first date where they hit it off and began dating once again--this time with success as they found their journeys had become aligned.

May 24, 2013: Their dear friends Haley & Dustin get married, Garrett makes his first move to pursue Sam. Circa 2015: Garrett reaches out to Sam for the first time since dating in 2013. Then again, and again...and again. April 26, 2016: Sam sends a text to Garrett ('bout time!), suggesting to get together. May 1, 2016: Their second, 1st date at Cha Cha's in Brea. Same place, same people. different life stages, different story. April 27, 2017: Garrett pops the question at a staged bridal style shoot. Sam, of course, says yes (and yay!) February 24, 2018: Forever together, never to tamper with timing again, Mr. & Mrs. Williams
