In middle school, we had a great mutual friend. He connected us, and we all would hang out during track practice. One day at practice, our friend told Aaron that I was asking him out. I absolutely was not, and I was very embarrassed. So, I violently tackled that friend to the ground. Since then, Aaron and I have been virtually inseparable as either best friends or lovers. We owe you one, Nick!
Since we're both very shy and don't like having the attention on us, we always talked about a low-key proposal and wedding. On Sunday, December 5th, 2021, all of us were hanging out in our bedroom. The kids were playing, and we were soaking up the baby lovin', all of us just as happy as ever. Aaron said it was a spur of the moment decision, that it just felt right for him to propose then. He didn't plan to propose that day, but the feeling was right since we were all together, our complete family. Carson and Chloe happened to run out of the room, and I was snuggling Emmett when he actually proposed. We were both giddy as ever, and it was perfect.
We decided that for our wedding ceremony, we wanted only our parents, kids, and wedding party. This was partially due to our short engagement, as well as both of us being shy! We had a lovely small ceremony at the Glencoe City Center, with dinner and photos to follow. It was a great time to relish being together without a large group, but now we're ready for the bigger party with everyone else that is important to us!
