Mount Rushmore

We recommend the handmade taffy shop on the main street, as well as the Ruby House restaurant.

Keystone

There is a lot of beauty to see here, you can visit the community caves off the highway, stop at bridal veil falls off the highway, and also stop at Roughlock Falls a little way up the canyon.

Spearfish Canyon Highway

A good morning hike! Takes about 3-4 hours up and down the mountain (tallest peak east of the Rocky Mts.), and then take a swim in Sylvan lake. 
You may remember seeing Sylvan lake in the movie National Treasure!

Sylvan Lake - Harney

A super fun spot for the kids! Feed the fish and explore the grounds.

D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery & Archives

Hike up the mountain, a strenuous, but shorter hike. Then go across the road and fish or cool off in Bear Butte Lake. There are also a few camping spots available here!

Bear Butte

A must-see in SD! If coming from Rapid City, the exit is at Wall, SD. There are directions for that on the website.

The Badlands Scenic Loop

This trail is right off of Spearfish Canyon at Savoy. If you drive up the road to the top parking lot, the falls is a short walk down the path.

Roughlock Falls Trail

You can see a lot of scenery, plus BUFFALO! Does require you to buy a Custer State Park day pass.
