When do you need to RSVP by?

Please RSVP no later than September 1, 2024. As there are limited amount of rooms, please also book the hotel as soon as you can as well, deadline is October 1, 2024.

What is weather like in the Yucatan Peninsula?

The average daily temperature in Tulum in April ranges from 24°C (75°F) to 31°C (88°F). The mornings and evenings are usually cooler, while the afternoons can get quite hot. Everything will be pretty accessible via golf carts, bicycles and walking. We recommend bringing light, airy clothing and cozy / comfortable threads for nighttime (besides the Russian squad which will surely dress to impress as always). Sunscreen and bug spray are a MUST as the sun is very strong and the bugs like to come out and play, especially in the evening.

What currency do I need in Mexico?

Answer

Pesos! Although dollars will work in some places too, however, the exchange rate will not be so great. Currently $1 dollar is worth 18 pesos. The Shibari Hotel is a cashless venue, everything can be put on your room or utilize Visa, Mastercard and AMEX. Tulum is pretty established so a majority of places will take credit cards as well and it is recommended to utilize a card with no foreign fees. The best places to find good rates are at a couple spots outside the airport, in Tulum town, specific ATMs, or consult with our concierge who will direct you to the best places as it is constantly changing.

Each event will have its own unique vibe. Plan accordingly when you view the schedule section. Ladies, we do not recommend stiletto heels or anything that would be uncomfortable. Reach out to our wedding planner if you are unsure. Keep in mind that we are in a tropical jungle on the ocean. The hotel has gravel and wood throughout, the roads are a mix of cement and dirt and the beach... well, you better know what beaches have on them.

All of our events are held outdoors although our welcome party will be inside and reception will be covered.

Can I connect to the outside World?

Answer

Free Wifi is available throughout the hotel property. Beach clubs will also have connectivity. Overall, Tulum has been built up considerably and there are very few patchy areas now. People travelling from Russia, please check with your mobile provider in advance. We recommend acquiring a local SIM card.

Why Mexico? Why Tulum?

Answer

Mexico is the first place that Olya and Sam went out of the country together. Sam lived in Oaxaca and was practically raised by a Guatemalan nanny and has a big love for Central America. While Olya is not fond of corn tortillas, the rest of the cuisine has grown on her. She is also fond of beautiful beaches and a laid back style that is the magic of Mexico. We also found it to be a wonderful meeting point for our loved ones to connect.
