Ольга Эдуардовна Пискунова and وسام عثمان بلان, also known as Olya and Sam to their family and friends met on a fateful night in November 2019. After a mutual friend brought her over to Sam's house, they connected on a myriad of topics but mainly danced and celebrated how tall they were compared to everyone else. They found a connection, like two giraffes in the wild, but life, like the Serengeti, is complicated. Sam was embarking on his travels all over South America and Olya needed more than height and killer dance moves to prove that this giraffe was a keeper. During his time away, Sam had his eye on her, commenting on pictures through social media and trying to show interest without scaring away this majestic creature. Olya clocked his interest, but again, she needed to be pursued hoof to hoof. Giraffes are notoriously bad at social media communications. As Sam returned to LA, he repeatedly would ask Olya out. She repeatedly turned him down. But Sam being the confident safari beast that he is, persisted and was really just trying to get to know her. She would come over, they'd watch a movie and then she would then quickly trot away to her home close by. Enter the Pandemic! As the World completely shut down, options for activities became limited. The occasional and sporadic movie turned into the two giraffes often walking Sam’s dog, Henry, together in the fresh air. The more they spoke, the more they became inseparable. A love began to blossom that went beyond dance music and their love of being able to reach things on high shelves. Suddenly the urban jungle of LA seemed to disappear until it was just the two of them. 4+ fateful years later and the Giraffes are tying the knot! And they would be honored and excited for you to join them in the beautiful Yucatan Peninsula to celebrate their love for each other and all of you.
