What is the dress code for the Jago?

Answer

This is the glam Punjabi event of the weekend, so this is your official excuse to go all out in Punjabi wear. Bright colors, sparkle, bold prints, statement jewelry… the more festive, the better! Traditional Punjabi outfits are highly encouraged, but Western looks are absolutely welcome too. Ladies: Lehenga, Palazzo, or Sharara suits with lots of color and shine. Think mirror work, sequins, colorful dupattas, and accessories galore. Western option: A glam cocktail dress, jumpsuit, or anything bold and party-ready works perfectly. Gentlemen: Kurta pajama (vest optional) or anything colorful and festive (extra points for embroidery or texture). Color is encouraged! Western option: A sharp suit, fun blazer, or elevated party look - the vibe is stylish, not subtle. Overall vibe: joyful, loud, and celebratory. If you’re wondering “is this too much?” then it’s probably perfect.

What should I wear to the Sikh wedding day?

Answer

We’d love for you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and festive! Both Western and Punjabi attire are perfectly welcome. During the ceremony, it’s customary for everyone to cover their heads as a sign of respect. If you don’t have your own scarf or head covering, don’t worry - we’ll have complementary head coverings available at the venue. Just keep in mind that modest clothing (avoiding deep necklines and covering the knees) is appreciated for this event. This ceremony involves sitting on a padded floor, so please be sure you are making yourself comfortable. For women, traditional clothes for a Sikh wedding include salwar kameez (Punjabi suit), palazzo or sharara suits, anakarli suits, or a modest lehenga. Western options include midi or full-length dresses, jumpsuits, or dressy & flowy trousers. For men, traditional clothes for a Sikh wedding include kurta pajama or sherwani. Western suits are also commonly worn (ties optional).

How do I extend my hotel reservation for a longer stay at Unico?

Answer

To extend your hotel reservation outside of the room block window, please email our wedding planner Elizabeth at travelbycasabohem@gmail.com. Please include "Sam and Nav Wedding" in the subject line. You will receive our discounted rates.

Can I book the hotel directly or through my credit card?

Answer

We kindly asks all guests to book their hotel stay exclusively through the hotel booking link. Due to hotel policy, wedding guests must make their reservations via our room block in order to attend the events.

Can I take an uber to and from the airport?

Answer

We do not recommend ubers in Riviera Maya due to the distance from the airport and infrequent availability. Please see the transportation page for a discounted rate for airport transfers.

Can I stay off resort and attend the wedding?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot accomodate off-site guests for any of the wedding events.
