Since our wedding will be in the evening, we thought exploring the city might be a fun way to keep busy day of or the following day for those sticking around the market. Well what a better way to keep busy than to explore the heart of the Market. Here are a few suggestions of things to do and places to see!
Sidedoor
18b York Street, Ottawa, ON K1N 5T5, Canada, +1 613-562-9331
For those of you not really wanting to venture off, why not just hang around SideDoor and enjoy a few drinks before the evenings festivities begin!
Major's Hill Park
Ottawa, ON K1A, Canada, +1 800-465-1867
Just a few Steps from York street, Major's Hill park offers beautiful views of the Parliament of Canada, Ottawa River, Chateau Laurier and of course our neighbouring province of Québec.
Planet Coffee, ByWard Market, Ottawa
24a York Street, Ottawa, ON K1N 1K2, Canada, +1 613-789-6261
Want a nice cup of coffee to keep you pumped for the night, or the next morning ahem ''hangover''? Planet coffee offers some of Ottawa's favourite beans.
ByWard Market
Ottawa, ON K1N, Canada
So much to do so much to see. Our venue is in the heart of the Market. Around us are secret courtyards, a ton of shops and one of my favourite, Le Moulin de la Provence (go buy a sugar cookie). You can wander for hours and just enjoy what the market has to offer.
BeaverTails
69 George Street, Ottawa, ON K1N 1K1, Canada, +1 613-241-1230
Okay we don't want you being too stuffed before our wedding BUT Beavertails is literally a two minute walk away, just saying.
National Art Gallery of Ottawa
380 Sussex Dr., Ottawa, ON K1N 9N4, Canada
If you've never been, you really should. The gallery offers many permanent exhibits as well as ever changing ones. It's a beautiful place to visit, look at artwork and just relax. Bonus, you can walk over to Champlain lookout or Major's hill park!
