Question

What to do during the day Saturday?

Answer

The wedding venue will be open starting at 10am on Saturday and all our guests are welcome to come and socialize before the ceremony starts at 4pm. We'll have space for puzzles, boardgames, and acro as well as croc-pot soups and snacks throughout the day. We'll be setting up at the beginning of this time, but we really do hope guests come and enjoy themselves. Our recommendation for people staying in Mount Vernon is to hang out at the venue during the day in casual attire and then go back to your hotel in the late afternoon to freshen up and change before the ceremony starts at 4pm.

Question

What is the parking situation at the venue?

Answer

There's parking onsite at Maplehurst Farms.

Question

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Answer

June in Seattle is not guaranteed to be sunny, but our plan is to have the wedding outdoors. Check the forecast and consider bringing a rain jacket or umbrella if it looks like rain. The reception will be indoors, but a light drizzle might not keep us from having our (short) ceremony outside.

Question

Where should we send notes and ribbons for the handfasting cord?

Answer

Sam & Luka 542 NE 103rd St Seattle, WA 98125 Or email us at sam.r.courts@gmail.com

Question

Can I bring my handfasting cord contribution in person?

Answer

As much as possible, we would like to braid the handfasting cord ahead of time (ideally by June 1st, 2025), but we will plan to incorporate any additional pieces we receive day of as well. You are also welcome to give us your contributions in person any time before the wedding.

Question

What kinds of materials or colors should we send for the handfasting cord?

Answer

Any ribbon, yarn, or fabric no more than an inch wide and between 8 and 12 inches long will work fine. If the material comes from something meaningful to you, all the better, and we'd love to know what its significance is. We are happy to receive any colors or patterns and do not expect things to match. If you're interested in picking a color that corresponds to the specific blessings you wish for us, we've included some traditional color meanings below (but feel free to follow your own heart): Red: passion, strength, fertility, courage, health, vigor Orange: encouragement, attraction, kindness, bounty, adaptability Yellow: charm, confidence, joy, balance, harmony, learning, comfort Green: finances, fertility, prosperity, health, growth, luck, generosity Blue: tranquility, patience, devotion, sincerity, loyalty, wisdom, health, truth, understanding Purple: Power, piety, sanctity, sentimentality, wisdom Pink: unity, honor, truth, romance, happiness, friendship, familial love, Black: strength, wisdom, vision, success White: purity, concentration, meditation, peace Gray: neutrality, balance Brown: earth, grounding, talent, home Silver: treasure, values, creativity, inspiration Gold: energy, wealth, intelligence, longevity

Question

If I can't make it to the wedding, when else can I see you to celebrate?

Answer

We will be traveling quite a bit this year and hope to see as many friends and family along the way as possible. Here are our plans as we know them now: 2/7 - 2/9: Vancouver, Canada (Vancouver Acro Fest) 2/20 - 3/4: Boulder, CO 2/28 - 3/3: Fredrick, CO (Colorado Acro Fest) 4/10 -4/16: Las Vegas, NV 6/5 - 6/8: Spokane, WA 6/28 - 7/28: European Honeymoon! We'll be in Germany, Italy (Udine), and Croatia (Split & Bol), so let us know if you'll be in Europe and we can see you! And let us know if you'll be in Seattle! We have a guest room and would love to host you!

For all the days along the way
