Family & Friends, We know these past years have been been quite a roller coaster, to say the least. There has been a lot of binge watching, a galore of cooking, some dabbling into new hobbies, and maybe one too many glasses of wine. There has also been some unexpected, but invaluable, time with family. And finally, there has been A LOT of reflection about life, what we value most, and of course, our wedding. Yes, we could have said "away with this!" and gotten hitched at the court house. Or we could have downsized to a small ceremony and had it available for you to see via Zoom. It all sounds lovely. But, what we decided is most important to us is to share our union and celebrate our dream day with all of our loved ones the way we have always wanted. We don't want to sacrifice this moment. So with that being said, we are beyond thrilled and hopeful to celebrate with you on March 19th, 2022. We hope to see you there! Love, Kelly & Sam
In very much a 21st century manner, Kelly and Sam met on a dating app known as “Bumble.” From Kelly’s point of view: “I had known who Sam was (although knew very little) through Sam’s sister, Sarah, who I met through my friend Victoria who lived in D.C. I noticed Sam through Sarah’s Instagram and always found him very easy on the eyes. I had no idea he lived in New York City so when I saw Sam come through on my Bumble app and we matched, I immediately started doing cartwheels.” From Sam’s point of view: “Well, this ended before it even started. When I matched with Kelly, I got very excited because she was beautiful and appeared to have a fun-loving personality. But as soon as she told me she knew my sister, I thought this would never work out as Sarah is understandably protective with who I date but to my relief she supported the idea!” After their four-hour first date at a quaint little cocktail bar in the West Village, Orient Express, Sam was concerned they wouldn't have anything to talk about on their second date but he knew he wanted to see Kelly again. Their second date consisted of dinner at Malaparte, now one of their favorite restaurants, and after discovering their deep love of Italian cuisine they both knew it was a perfect match. Three and half years later, Sam proposed to Kelly on a quaint street in the West Village after cocktails at Orient Express and before dinner at Malaparte.
