Gabriella Scolio

Maid of Honor

Kate and Gabriella connected during their freshman year in a history class—it was like two universes collided and decided to coexist. Instantly inseparable, their lives quickly became intertwined—from working on research projects together to Gabriella taking Kate to Chipotle for the first time, it was clear these two were meant to be forever friends. Even as they’ve grown up, moved away, started careers, and even gone back to school, their bond has remained strong and their connection has only deepened. Kate feels incredibly lucky to have met Gabriella—and even more lucky to have found a second home with her family. Having Gabriella by her side as her Maid of Honor is truly a blessing.

Ellie Peters

Maid of Honor

Ellie and Kate met on the first day they moved into Husman Hall 4 West at Xavier University. During their first hall meeting that night, they locked eyes and instantly knew they were meant to be best friends. In their first year of friendship, they lived directly across the hall from each other and spent nearly every waking moment together—something that hasn’t changed, as Ellie is now Kate’s upstairs neighbor. Countless laughs, late-night drives, and lazy Saturday mornings make up eight years of a wonderful friendship between the two. Kate is forever grateful to have met a friend like Ellie and can’t wait to celebrate with her on the special day!

Claire Fischer

Bridesmaid

Claire and Kate met during their first few days of freshman year at Xavier—and from that moment on, they never left each other’s sides. One fateful Sunday lunch right after Manresa, and the rest was history. Before long, it was Claire, Ellie, and Kate doing everything together. From nights out to traveling adventures to cooking dinner together every night for a full year, Kate and Claire have shared countless memories. Kate is incredibly excited to have Claire by her side on her wedding day!

Alysia Smith

Bridesmaid

Kate and Alysia actually met on Instagram during their freshman year at Xavier. After just one lunch together in the caf, they both knew they were meant to be lifelong friends. Kate quickly welcomed Alysia into her trio with Ellie and Claire, and the bond between them only grew stronger. From being a bridesmaid in Alysia’s wedding to becoming an unofficial aunt to her daughter, Kate feels incredibly blessed to have shared so much of life with her. Alysia is more than a best friend—she’s like another sister. Kate is so ready to share this special moment with Alysia by her side!

Kortney Ferguson

Bridesmaid

Kate and Kortney lived on the same floor during their freshman year at Xavier, but it would be a few years before they became permanent parts of each other's lives. They connected more deeply in their junior year and quickly became close friends, bonding over countless laughs and an unusual number of old reality TV shows. Kate doesn’t know a more driven, kind, hilarious, and fashionable person than Kortney—and she can’t wait to have her by her side on her wedding day.

Carlee Cole

Bridesmaid

Kate and Carlee met right before their senior year at Xavier but they will both tell you they feel like they have been friends for their whole life! Immediately it felt as if Carlee was the missing puzzle piece in Kate’s life. Together they could argue, giggle, yell, play fight and still say “I love you” by the end of the night. Everyone around them can agree that the bond between Kate and Carlee is unique-- or as Carlee would put it, Kate is like her other sister she didn’t want and that is why they can argue, makeup and laugh till' tears all in the same 5 minute span. Kate is so ready to celebrate with Carlee by her side.

Alex Ackerman

Bridesmaid

If you ask Kate and Alex when or how they met, neither can recall the exact moment—but both will tell you that one day, they simply woke up and were forever part of each other’s lives. Kate is deeply grateful for the friendship they share, as it has inspired her to move through the world with a passion for people and a strong sense of purpose in doing good for others. Alex is the kind of friend who encourages you to open both your mind and your heart. Kate is so ready to have Alex by her side on her wedding day.

Emma Roach

Bridesmaid

Kate has known Emma the longest of any of her bridesmaids—because they’re sisters! Growing up alongside Emma has been one of the greatest gifts in Kate’s life. Watching her grow, mature, and take on new challenges has been incredibly inspiring. Kate is forever grateful to have her sister by her side on her wedding day.

Riley Head

Bridesmaid

Sam and Riley go way back—like 18 years old in a new city, just trying to connect their education to their passions—back. From campaigning together during the 2016 election to battling it out in Mock Trial, their four years at Xavier were deeply interwoven. And if going to school together and being in the same clubs weren’t enough, they also worked together at the Blind Lemon (aka the BEST bar in Cincinnati). Early morning PPP seminars flowed into late nights serving at the Lemon—and somewhere in between, a deep and wonderful friendship was formed. Sam is so excited to have Riley by her side on the big day!

Emma Barry

Bridesmaid

Emma was Sam’s first friend in Cincinnati, but their stories began thousands of miles apart as they prepared on separate continents to be roommates at Xavier University. From those first nights away from home, it was clear that Sam and Emma were meant to be lifelong friends. They helped each other navigate the anxieties of freshman year, enjoyed countless Currito smoothies, and dreamed about their post-grad lives! Sam couldn’t be happier to still have Emma by her side.

Mary Fanning

Bridesmaid

Mary and Sam met in the nerdiest place in the world: Student Government Association—and how grateful they both are that they needed that resume booster! A friendship that started in the Gallagher Student Center has spanned two cities, seven apartments, and eight years. From gallivanting across snowy OTR winters to moving into Ziegler Pool during the summer, you’re hard-pressed to find Sam without Mary—or Mary without Sam! Sam feels incredibly lucky to have Mary by her side on her wedding day and to share this special wedding season with such a wonderful friend.

Megan Eckerman

Bridesmaid

Room 208: the place where bonds are formed—or at least that’s what Sam and Megan would say. Together since their freshman year, Sam and Megan’s relationship truly embodies the value of being present with those you love. Having spent four years at Xavier together, Sam cannot imagine a world without Megan’s wisdom, laughter, kindness, and fierce loyalty. She is incredibly thankful to share this wedding season with Megan and to have her stand by her side on the big day.

Genna Peters

Maid of Honor

Younger than Sam by four full years, Genna is Sam’s built-in bestie. The two have grown up together—enjoying yearly family vacations, mastering every board game ever, and most importantly, competing (even if unofficially) to have the best 10-year-old trip with Grandma and Papa! Sam feels wonderfully blessed to share her wedding season with her younger sister, best friend, and Maid of Honor.

Ally Peters

Bridesmaid

Ally has known Sam her whole life, and Sam can’t remember a day without her little sister! Their sisterhood began with making potions in the backyard and grew through marching band, speech team, and the SALT team in high school. Now, they get to share the incredible experience of being brides together as they both plan their weddings! Sam is incredibly grateful for Ally’s love and support on the big day.

Sabrina Menkhaus

Bridesmaid

Even though they live just five minutes apart, Sabrina and Sam still manage to spend hours on the phone together every week. Their favorite activities include yoga, long walks, and sharing vegetarian recipes. They met during their freshman year at Xavier, connected by a shared vision of the world. Sabrina and Sam remain sources of spiritual comfort for each other and love pondering life’s biggest—and smallest—questions. Sam is so happy to have Sabrina’s support on her wedding day.

Daphne Wilson

Bridesmaid

Starting college with pink hair made for a quick friendship with the only other girl who matched her. Sam and Daphne quickly realized their similarities didn’t end there and soon spent all their time together. From fall breaks to annual trips to California, Sam is grateful that 2,500 miles haven’t gotten in the way of their adventures. She is beyond excited to start this new chapter with Daphne by her side!
