Flight

*FLIGHTS ARE OPEN* Hawaiian Airlines Information

Flights to Hawaii are now available to purchase. Keep your eyes out as prices change. Just as a good piece of information, if you can find a flight for under $800 that is a great deal and flights over $1,000 is on the higher end. Typically, we monitor the prices using Hopper.com and pay around $700 per person for a round trip. Today 9/28/2023 the prices are somewhat high at $875 (1 layover) or $ 1,065 (Non-stop). If you would like to use the 60,000-mile promotion, use the code we received on our most recent flight to sign up for a Hawaiian Airlines Credit Card. Code: 012653 After being accepted, you will be rewarded 60,000 miles which (as of now, make sure to read the fine print) will cover a full round-trip ticket on Hawaiian Airlines. Depending on the price of the ticket the more miles it may cost. Ex: Boston to Honolulu and Honolulu to Boston. There is a $99 annual fee and you only need to make one purchase (No minimum, we bought Kit Kats at CVS ) to activate the card. *Please make sure to enter the code BEFORE applying for the credit card or you will not be utilizing the proper promotion. Click the PROMO button on the top right corner of the website. This information is based on our previous experiences so please make sure to double-check the details when signing up.*

Travel Note

Overview of Hawaii Expenses

Flights: $600 - $1,200 per person - Begin looking for flights as soon as possible as they may change drastically over time - You will be flying into Honolulu Airport - Please prepare for a full day of traveling if not more depending on your flight schedule Hotels: $150 - $500 per night / room - We suggest staying in Waikiki as it is a central location for tourists with many options for food, drink, and shopping. - Feel free to book rooms with others you know will be attending the wedding to minimize the cost. - The Wedding Party is staying in and around the Ilikai hotel in Waikiki - If you book through Airbnb, be sure to make sure they have the proper short term rental certificates (this is a law specific for Hawaii) - Every hotel chain has a location in Waikiki, there will be no hotel block due to the length of stay and arrival/departure times of most parties Rental Cars / Transportation: $30 - $100 per day - You can book rental cars under any agency you wish. - Rental Cars are not required however they will help you travel a greater distance easily on the island. - You can rent a car for your whole trip or many hotels have rental agencies in the lobby for single day rentals - The are many car transportation apps available for you to use in Honolulu (Uber & Lyft) if you go too far out of the city, especially at odd times, there is a chance no Uber's or Lyft's will be in the area - There is also public transportation via " TheBus "

Hotel

Hotels

General Areas to Stay Waikiki: The hub of tourism on Oahu and is the location of most hotels on Oahu. It has infinite restaurants, shops, nightlife, and shows - so you'll never be bored there. It is close to Diamond Head, has many activities and great for watching a Waikiki sunset, which is one of our favorite Oahu activities. See our Waikiki hotel recs below: 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach About: Previously The Pacific Beach Hotel, the hotel got a complete makeover in 2018 to become the 'Alohilani. Thankfully, they kept the iconic Oceanarium, a two-story tropical fish tank, which is now a sleek bar. The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club About: A cool retro-Hawaii boutique hotel with a "Wish You Were Here" pool people love to float around in and take pictures of. The Laylow, Autograph Collection About: Everyone seems to love The Laylow! It’s hip with its mid-century meets modern decor. “Waikiki’s most Instagrammable hotel”, but before you roll your eyes it has excellent service and goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The Sheraton Waikiki About: The Sheraton Waikiki has some incredible views of Diamond Head and an iconic infinity pool overlooking Waikiki Beach. It is very close to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and has a very convenient central location. The Moana Surfrider About: The Moana Surfrider is a historic Waikiki landmark and has the nickname of “Waikiki’s First Lady”. She is an elegant lady and feels like a place to stay for royalty. The Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites About: Great for first time vistors The Ilikai is a surf / beach tourist hub with hotels, upmarket shops & smart eateries, plus Kuhio Beach hula shows. The Ilikai is where the majority of the bridal party will be staying. (We booked through Air BNB for cheaper condo type rooms) If you use the Ilikai website use code: alohawed for discounted rated.

House Or Rental

Rentals / VRBOS / Airbnbs

Short-term Rentals: Airbnb or VRBO can be more budget-friendly than hotels, especially if traveling in a group. We suggest staying in mostly Honolulu (Waikiki). However, there are beautiful places all around the island such as Kailua, Kaneohe, or the North Shore. Use the wishlist link to find some of our Air BNB recommendations. (Click View Button Below) When booking, we highly recommend choosing a "licensed" rental. This will ensure you trip is with a verified and licensed host. *Please make sure when booking to double check if there is required minimum amount of nights you must stay.*

Rental Car

Rental Cars / Ride Share Info

Rental Cars: For maximum flexibility and convenience, we recommend renting a car. All major rental car companies operate out of Honolulu International Airport. Rideshare Apps: Uber and Lyft operate on Oahu and are better for traveling short distances in Honolulu. For longer trips out to the Windward side, North Shore, or West Side, we recommend renting a car or booking a tour.
