Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, it is very important to us that you wear formal attire for the ceremony and reception. We want our guests to treat it as an opportunity to dress up. Please either wear a suit or a tea-length or floor length dress that is not white. If you are able to shop your closet, thrift or purchase your outfit secondhand that is awesome! Here is a link to a Pinterest Board which might help guide you: https://pin.it/4hQ97GTQD. Suits: Darker suits that are black, navy, blue, brown or mauve. Sam plans to wear a green suit, so please avoid that color. Dresses: Floor length or tea length dresses that are solid color or tastefully patterned. Wedding party colors are thyme/olive green and French/denim blue. Shoes: Please do not wear stilettos. A block or chunky heel is fine. Our wedding events will take place on grass and gravel covered areas as well as some uneven brick which is not conducive to a thin heel. Thanks!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

For those who will be traveling to the wedding in a car, there will be limited parking at the ceremony, but plenty of parking at the reception.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There will be a shuttle to transport guests from the two hotels in our hotel block to the ceremony, then to the reception and then back to the hotel at 10:30 pm. Shuttle pick up will begin at 2:45 pm, so guests can be dropped off by 3:30 pm at the Old Round Church in Richmond. The shuttle is with Affordable Transportation. Ubers & Lyfts are available in the Greater Burlington area, but do not tend to be an option in the more rural towns like Richmond and Huntington where the wedding is taking place. You might be able to pick up a rideshare to the wedding venue, but most likely will not get one back into Burlington.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

It is our intention to have a child-free wedding. That being said, we understand extinuating circumstances and we ask that you let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

It will be clear on your official invitation, whether or not you have received a plus one. We ask that only those who have been invited attend our wedding. Thank you!

Question

What is the weather like in Vermont in June?

Answer

Great question! Vermont weather in general can be very unpredictable. The end of June tends to be between 60-85 degrees during the day and can cool off a bit at night. We advise packing light layers and a rain jacket. The wedding is on the summer solstice, so we will have the longest day of the year and it will remain light outside until well into the evening, about 8:45/9 pm.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

There will be an opportunity on the RSVP to let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary choices. We will be having a vegetarian wedding, so all of the food will be vegetarian or vegan. Gluten free options will be available as well.
